Hey guys, finally got round to picking a set of speakers for my mk2 bready

I'm going to put these at the front in the footwell but far enough as to not get knocked

Pyle Front

and these to replace the ones at the back

Pyle rear

now i have absolutely no clue as the what i need from an amp, all i can say is that i want sumat small to hide at the front / under the dash

if preferable sumat that will dish out what the speakers can handle but I'm not a man made of money, its took a bit of time of scrimpin n saving to get the money for these.

also for the front speakers, any idea where i can acquire pods to mount them in? to then mount to the car

i made my own pods , but I'm sure mark crox was making some of these ? also , depends how much money you want to spend , my set up cost a hell of alot of money, but i want a really good sound , i would personally say just use your radio for now and save up for a decent amp, jl and hertz make good amps though imo

Upgrading the speakers is always a good start. as this headset only has two pre outs (as opposed to two sets) which speakers do you intend to amp?

Or do you intend to get a high to low convertor for one set of speakers and a four channel amp? This should allow the fader to still operate as I'm led to believe that most headsets with one set of preouts use the rear channels for these.

If not you may need two high to low convertors unless you find a four channel amp that will work off the speaker outputs, to retain control through the fader in the head unit.

i thought the pre-outs were what went to an amp? as it has 4 rear connections i assumed this was right and left for both front and back?

aslong as you make pods for the speakers making them sealed there will be no point

so id advice you to do that, then use a 4channel amp about 4x50wrms should do the job but there not really small but that can be hidden behind one of the rear cards

as for the headunit the outputs would be rear and sub, or front and rear you will have to look at the back of the headunit

but if you dont want to adjust the fader just run one set of phonos to the amp

but if you do you can buy an equializer and you can fade it with that and use the sub output on the headunit to the equializer and then two phonos from the equailizer front and rear output aswel as getting a better sound quality through that

your quite local to me if you want to pop down i can make and install it all and I've also got an amp that would be perfect for you

installs arent the problem, I'm a dab handy at the diy, rebuilt an original mini, its just the technical audio details that elude me, such as what i need :)

ok, get the pods built not sure where your planing on putting the though, get a 4channel amp vibe a3 get an 8awg wiring kit then about 6-8meters of 18awg speaker wire cant remember how bit they are, but the amp will not fit in the dash

install everything

then set the headunit and amp up

any sugestions on where i could mount the amp? i may still come down yet anyway, doesnt hurt to have two heads thinking it out than just one lol

Could make like a false floor about 2" high then it can be mounted solid

Yeah ok just let me know, I've just got a mk2f to do my old coupe (fern) most people know it, got a false floor, ported box single 12", two amps, custom door cards with 2 speakers and 1 tweeter each side to make and install

All good fun can't wait
