Hey guys.

So yesterday me and a couple of friends went to pick up a friend from the army who was based all the way down in Bovington, 370 miles away. At first intention there was only going to be one driver, my other friend. We pulled into a service station and there was a police car sat waiting for us to pull in and he got put into the back of the police car as apparently the car wasnt insured! He was the only person insured on the vehicle at this minute and he told them he was insured but his company (admiral) told him it wouldnt come us as insured for up to 24 hours.

The Police officer then rang his insurance and they told him he was insured on the vehicle. (Phew)

We set back off and he said he was getting a little tired so i suggested that i would ring my insurance and ask for tempory cover on the vehicle, i ended up going for 2 days which ended up being £17.50, drove all the way down there and on the way back up, pulled back over again at about 12:45am where he said the car wasnt insured again. I explained to the officer that my phone was dead but i had the email handy. He gave my a charger so i charged my phone and showed him the email.

In the email it explains i got 2 days tempory cover on my Polo, which is actually my full yearly insured car. He said that on the email it didnt say nothing about the car i was driving which was understandable, now why have elephant put my car in this email and not the one which i payed to insure?! The officer was kind enough to let me off but i have to now prove that i was insured on the rover but i cant cause i cant find any documents to say i was insured unless they have made a slight mistake in the email they sent but can i get this changed? Have they recorded my call, i did say i wanted insurance on the other car.

I have 6 days to take a document in to my local station to prove i was insured or basically i am fucked, resulting in me probably losing my car, insurance and therefore job.

Can anyone help me in what process i can go down and what i should do, there was 2 of us insured on the car at the time and we were just switching over..

He couldnt ring elephant as the offices were closed after 11pm before anyone suggests that.

ring them! hopefully they will have recorded the call and it'll just be a mistake at their end. they should have a record of the call if nothing else. hopefully the insurance co will be able to help you out. common sense says you wouldn't insure yourself on the same car twice!

Insurers like Admiral will more than likely record almost every call.

Off the top of my head, I remember them saying that so il call them up and hopefully they can sort it out!
