Anyone in manc good with diesels?

Featured Replies

Essentially my dailys died. It cut out and wouldnt restart. Checked the clear filter pipes, it seems that my diesel was very very bubbly.I had an inkling it was the filter pipe o rings, so i changed them all, and the prefilter and hte fuel filter. Still no luck. I then noticed one of the pipes had a hairline crack in the connectors, presumably enabling air to be drawn in, so i manned up and purchased a full set of pipes to replace them. This should have remedied it. However, i have now done everything short of replace the delivery seals in the injection pump, theres no diesel leaking from it though so i believe it should be ok. The car will fire up off brake cleaner, so theres obviouslly enough compression for it to run, but it wont prime the system enough. I've not changed any leak off pipes or anything just yet, as they all feel tight, with no signs of fuel round them. I'm at my wits end, and getting the bus to go and work with buses is a public transport overload. Any theories/suggestions/ help fettling about with it would be muchly appreciated.

Have you checked to see if your getting fuel to the injectors? I.e cracked a high pressure pipe off after the rail (I know you shouldn't really do this)
