Coilovers don't have bearings on so if that part was broke then that's the top mounts nothing to do with the coilies them selves

coilovers are shite anyway, the best thing to do with them is to throw them through guys living room window and buy some decent lowering springs and shocks.

You can get brand new JOM's or FK streets for £200 bud, I would never buy second hand coilovers unless they were about a month old for your mentioned reasons

I've just got some kw weitec's going on the car this friday. I am only lowering abit.

I hope your opinion on coil overs prove to be wrong. I'm expecting 3 years out of these atleast for what i blumming paid.

Coilovers are usually ok durability wise other than the seizing issue.

The ride quality though is absolutely shite, imagine replacing the springs and shocks for something more or less solid and you get the picture.

hopefully the weitecs are better than the budget coilovers.

if you get descent coilovers and stop branding all of them as shit then there fine.

Second-hand suspension components are not really the way forward tbh, a low shock/spring kit isn't costy for that car so if you wanna go low it's wise to go for the boxed option.

If you really wanted you could claim your money back through small claims court, there was no practicable way of testing the item so "sold as seen" you couldn't see them not working. Item not as described is still applicable in a private sale.

Cheers folks i guess this is learning the hard way but at least I'm learning maybe before i purchase anything else i better run it buy you lot first i do like all the different opinions and ideas but i refuse to give up!!I'm gonna build this bloody thing if it kills me!!

Seizing issue? If people would spend an extra £5 on a tub of Comma Cooper ease when they buy coilovers then there wouldn't be any seizing issues!

I've only ever bought budget coilovers and never had any hassle with them.

To get mega lows on a Polo they need to be wound right down to the bump stops which does give them a harsh ride but its not the same story for every car.

I recently decked my E46 328 coupe on budget coilovers and the ride is fantastic.

And the car is literally on the ground!

Budgets are crap. Thats why they are so cheap. The FKs on the M3 are okay. The best ones I've had the the KW V1 on my Lupo.

Copper grease is okay but stainless bodies with plastic locking rings is a lot less messy

You mean height adjustable coil over dampers yes?

Utter bullshit about them being rubbish, you get what you pay for.

Pay the price, you'll have decent stuff that lasts, buy cheap; may lower you down with minimal rubbing but probably come with a hard as fuck spring and little to no damper development

Budget coils are fine..

They are fine yes. To slam a car, then go in a car on decent ones and you'll probably think they're acceptable but will agree with getting what you pay for comments lol.
