I read something about new MOT rules regarding anything that restricts or hinders light from headlamps

The kit from these guys is up to mot spec mate read thru it, the film has got holes pierced thru it to allow light to reflect thru it so you are car will pas mot with it on:)

I shouldnt pass, they where fitted to a mk4 golf gti i bought and i couldnt see shit, your sticking an object over glass its going to reduce the amount of light going through it.

Products on the lens or light source that obviously reduce the light's intensity or change its colour will become a reason for failure – applies to front/rear position lamps, registration plate lamps, stop lamps, rear fog and direction indicators,

Headlight requirements are updated to take account of the particular characteristics of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps.

HID headlights can cause dazzle if they are dirty or aimed too high, so they are generally (if light output exceeds 2000 lumens) fitted in conjunction with headlamp cleaning and levelling systems. Where HID or LED dipped beam headlamps are fitted the tester will switch on the headlamps and check the operation of any headlamp levelling and cleaning devices fitted.

The car will fail if a headlamp levelling or cleaning device is inoperative or otherwise obviously defective.

If a headlamp bulb is not seated correctly the resulting beam pattern will be indistinct and this will result in a test fail.

Or they do shit like that to keep cars safe on the road? If your vision is reduced your more likely to have an accident, e.g miss a huge pothole in the road because u think its cool to have restricted light out of your lamps just so they look 'scene'. Every mot rule is put in place because of a number of accidents and/or deaths caused by the issue. Just like a risk assessment in your workplace

Had to take my FlyEyes off in the end, couldn't see a thing with my lights on even with Osram Nightbreaker bulbs.

I've failed cars on fly eyes recently since new regs, my mate had them on a 6n2 gti and were awful at night.

Flyeyes has been illegal since the new law came in. You arent allowed any product on the headlights at all that changes the colour or restricts the output of the lamps. That goes for all lights. Front, rear, fogs, and indicators. Flyeyes probabbly did go under. Demand would have dropped dramatically overnight and its only selling point of being MOT compliant is now no longer a selling pont.
