No longer for sale

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Long story short - I've been offered a new job but its 60 miles a day and frankly I can't see myself doing it in the coupe. Although it will be up to itinerant some comfort

THIS IS STILL CURRENTLY REGISTERED AS A 1.0 NOT TRYING TO BE AN INSURANCE/DVLA SCAMMER I WAS WAITING TILL THE END OF THE MONTH (MARCH) TO CHANGE MY POLICY. BUT AS I AM SELLING I AM NOT GOING TO CHANGE IT, UP TO THE NEW OWNER TO SORT AS I HAVE NO TIME NOW.

Spec as follows

Make:

Vw

Model:

Polo coupe boulevard

Year/Reg:

1993 L

Mileage:

Shell 85k engine 98k although no proof

MOT:

July 30th 2013

Tax:

Will confirm

Good points:

Alleycat rallye specials 6x13 and 7x13

G40 interior

New wheel bearings

lowered 70mm is shocks and springs.

Carbon fibre fuel flap and switch panel.

Brand new standard rear silencer.

Carpeted boot door speakers black carpets sun visors

Door speakers

Clear indicators

I've missed loads can't think at the moment

AFH (1.4 16v)

Gave the engine a service before it went in plugs filter etc - carbs are CBR600 (1999 I think) running a T piece from the standard pump. Engine runs well and pulls hard having a few teething problems as its only been in a couple of weeks. Such as throttle springs and suspected fan not cutting in. Although I have done 800 miles since the conversion.

Bad points:

Few scratches on the bonnet, couple of scabs on the bottom of the doors not broken through paint though, paint repairs in places like the rear quarter are flatter than the rest of the car may buff up ill fairness I'm unsure about paint. Once polished you wouldn't know.

Choke cable needs connecting.

DOES NOT COME WITH THE PLATE OR MOMO WHEEL ( plate will come off ASAP )

The hose connector was a temporary thing all be it it works but doesn't look great so I will try to change that before the sale.

If you have any questions please ask.

I'd like £1500ono or a diesel

which I think is fair considering - only needs a couple of things connecting and it'll be perfect :) although works fine as it is but would benefit from a rev gauge...

Cheers

This now runs fine I'm currently doing 70 miles a day. To be perfectly honest in no rush to sell but I need a diesel for work. So that's kind of it really swap for a diesel?

If not ill keep it and save for another car

Well shits hit the fan in my life ATM,

Got the job I've always wanted but not getting a new car like planned so I literally have to get rid of this or quit my job.

So yeah.

I'm dropping the price to £1300ono so let me know cheers need it gone ASAP :(

Edited by matt-c

Ah don't do this to me. Far too cool. Got a 115 gttdi. Decisions decisions

PMd

seen this car in the flesh and as the plate says its clean plus matts done some awesome work on this car theres hours gone into this and he,s a decent lad as well glws matt shame you gotta sell it really bet your gutted bud

  • Author

Thank you mate appriciate that! - although the plate is my surname abriviated ;)

EDIT - surely this is cheap enough people it owes me a considerable amount more than its up for sale.

I don't want to break it but its becoming more and more tempting. I would only do so if I had enough interest in the bigger parts as I don't want half a car outside my house..

Edited by matt-c

I think it's a fair price indeed mate! Surprised its not gone

Id take the interior if you broke it dude.

Or would you be interested in selling it seperately?

Cheers dude I'm thinking the same!

I havnt got a spare interior mate but if I brake it ill let you though I'd rather not as it'll leave me with a shell and no where to store it.

The wheels are provisionally sold and I will update in an hour if he collects them. Price on the car will drop accordingly

Cheers

Shame to break it dude youve done alot of graft with the conversion, if i hadnt spent all tha cash on upgrades for mine bike carbs/cam/head etc would of considerd the 1400, do like the oil gauge with carbon plate tho dude fancy selling it or is it now wired in?

  • Author

I'm really going to try not to break it mate that's last resort!

So ill let you know about the switch panel --

Just incase anyone wants a swap if be interested in a mk4 golf any engine up to 1.6 cheers

your interested in a car which isnt gonna be much better on fuel anyway? you make no sence man

  • Author

It will be alot better on fuel, I have many reasons for needing a newer car none of which need explaining on here. Its not ideal selling up but with a new job it has to be done regardless of what me or anyone else thinks if I want to get somewhere in life I have to sacrifice some things and the polo is just that.

^ thats called an upgrade haha

If MPG is a highly contributing factor, all you need to do is set the carbs up properly by someone who knows what they're doing.

What did you/eric do tuning wise?

  • Author

Well the car I'm driving is costing me 50 a week to do 360 miles the polo is more like 60-65 mainly due to the fact I can't help but over take people on the country roads. To be fair I'm just getting let down by time wasters so not in any rush to sell at all. I could do with it gone but its not in my way..

Plus I'm going to make some carbon door cards and strip/cage it if no one wants it soon

Would you be interested on an Audi A4 tdi b5 (1998).

Great big car to drive. 160k but its been looked after and can do double that again.

mk4 GTTDI PD150 Anniversary edition + cash my way?

(comes up on insurance as an SDI btw)

  • Author

Thanks for the offer on the Audi but a bit on the large side for my pockets cheers though

And I'm going to have to give it a miss about the mk3 estate but thanks for the offer

Matt - that sounds lovely but I won't be able to insure it (cheaply anyway) or add much cash but thank you for the offer

Mk3 golf gti swop?
