I know I've only recently finished this after 9 months, and it exceeded my expectations on the 1st drives, I can't help but feel I need more power. I know this car can now handle a LOT more, but I really need to grow up and stop with the engine swaps for a while and spend more time with the family and actually enjoying a car rather than messing with it.

Bit of history...

I bought this in Feb last year, already converted to a PB with a GTI rear beam. I ran it until May, then took it off the road. I bought a rotten mk3 GTI and transferred EVERYTHING that fits the mk2. It passed its MOT on Saturday and I taxed it that day. I've done nearly 400 miles since then and took it to Elsecar, its proved to be reliable, very economical and the handling is amazing! Its quite a strange experience driving a mk2 that feels like a mk3 in everyway, but the combination of the widetrack and less weight certainly is a good combination.

It now runs the 2e engine mated to a mk2 gearbox, I seperated the engine loom from the donor and only used what was neccessary for the mk2, with it being a 90 spec, most was plug and play.

Its widetracked, runs the 280mm front brakes up front, discs rear (I swapped the complete beam over), 22mm master cylinder, I also had to extend the brake pipes to the load compensator as it sits about 7" further back. The hubs are obviously now 5x100. It has fairly rare 16" europe spec Audi TT speedlines fitted currently, although I do have some 15" corrado VR6 speedlines too.

I've also fitted the mk3 GTI clocks, stalks and wheel, the MFA and everything works as it should. Mileage of the car is 112k, but the clocks unfortunately read 150k, as per donor car mileage. I have the original VW booklet full of reciepts for the donor, also the original VW booklet for the car itself.

Coilovers are fitted as it was when I got it, just cheapies but not siezed, I've adjusted the ride height several times. Still has the cat fitted, although this has been gutted, resulting in none of the usual mk3 mid range flat spot.

I have fitted a new clutch, oil and filter, spark plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, air filter, heater matrix, fresh coolant, slimline radiator fan, blue temp sender, manual adjust clutch cable, battery and an ARB drop link for the MOT.

Inside I've fitted 90 spec ultra violet seats and door cards. It has the rare heated/electric mirrors, and central locking. Keep fit windows.

Bodywork wise its in very good condition, no rust to speak of, wiper blank, fuel filler, bootlid have none. Only bits to pick on would be 2 little dings in the bonnet, and all the arches have been rolled, but the paint has cracked so could benefit from a bit of paint. Also the roof has been painted at some point but not laquered.

Now its back on the road there is a few little niggles that most will be attended to in the next few days if I get chance. Firstly the exhaust manifold gaskets are blowing, cheap fix but a pain to do, this is one of my priorities. The bottom rad hose is a lash up I made as I lost it, its seeping slightly, again, this is a priority for me. Other things to note are the tracking needs sorting, the wheels suit it and look the part but the offset is a bit low, so on certain corners the arch hits the sidewall. I have a set of 15" corrado speedlines which look the part and fit much better, but need a refurb and tyres. These could be included. Only other things to note is the headlining is dead (common problem), the ashtray is missing, as is a rear interior door handle trim, both bits I put on a daily mk2 I had and never replaced.
