Parker's 1.4 8v 6N Project

Featured Replies

Alright guys this is my Polo 6n 1.4 8v as it stands, I haven't got any pics from when i first got it but iv just gone out and taken several pics of how it is now.

I got this car just before christmas for £250 so a bit of a bargain :D...

Progress has been way too slow so far but here's what iv done:

* First I added the wind deflectors

* Second was bbs alloys with stretched tyres (165/50/15 on 7J)

* Third where the blue tinted lights

Here it is as it is at the moment (with what iv added - wind deflecters, bbs alloys and blue tinted lights)

The cars not in the best condition either, I hit the front corner when someone braked infront of me and theres a few rust spots and scratches.

Damaged front corner

Let me know what you think so far guys (I'm 50/50 on the lights so it'll be great to get some others opinions)

My exterior plans which will be carried out first:

* Lowered on coilovers

* 16v bumpers

* smoothed boot but keeping the number plate grove

* smoothed rear doors

* front fogs

* 6n spoiler

* full respray (either in the same colour, gloss black, or a much brighter blue) - Alloys will be sprayed to the same colour as the same if the car is kept orginal colour.

Once the exteriors done these are my plans for the interior:

* door panels, dash, and piller columns sanded and sprayed black

* black carpet

* black headliner

* leather seats

Please express your opinions and thoughts

Oh and if any one knows what bbs's they are could you let me know been looking all over the internet tryin to find out :/

Cheers

Nice! Plans seen gd, keep us updated

As for the wheels, they might be BBS RX's with a different centre cap maybe? Thats off the top of my head anyways.

No rx2's are splits these are 1 piece.

I dont think there bbs tbf...

If they are bbs will be stamped/cast on it somewhere.

It took me a whole lot of searcing then finally put one of the numbers stamped on the back into google, and a bit more searching found out their 'BBS Michael Schumacher Collection' something or other. Only seen them for sale in germany forums, not on ebay so must be pretty rare :thumbsup::D

Anyway money went a little tight while a sorted out some other stuff going on but I'm back at it...

Iv got the

* Coilovers

* 16V front and rear bumper

* K&N Airfilter

* Smoked rear lights, font indicators & side repeaters

* Sportex exhaust system (on the way)

* Power steering rack, pump, pipes etc

* Electric window motors, wiring etc

Il upload pics once its all fitted, but t wont look like a master piece as I'm still yet to change a few panels, smooth, and spray :p

:/ oh dear, stretched tyres and arch gap = fail.....

blue lights look pretty 90s so if your going for the max power look then crack on lol

I would get that rear arch looked at as it looks like the cars pretty rotten tbf so would suck to put money into it and then have it fall apart lol

Cheers for your imput but I'm on steelies atm lol, 2 tires on the alloys need replacing but they will be going back on once its lowered and new tires sorted... what would you surgest once lowered? streched tires as is or 195/50/15 all round? Anyones imput on what tires will be best will be appriecated :)

As for the lights there sold and iv got smoked lights to replace them

Input lol. I'd personally go for all reds at the back.

Lower it first then arches then other things. If the smoked lights are 16v ones I'd go for them over all reds in my opinion.

Right I know I haven't got very far yet lol... But iv made 'some' progress.. Iv taken those horrible blue lights off and replaced them for smoked lights at the rear. Iv taken off the alloys anf replaced them with stellies well until I get the alloys sprayed up and car lowered. Changed the front and rear bumpers to 16V ones. And put the sportex exhaust and K&N air filter on (as well as doing some minor manitance to the engine.. New sparks, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm etc)

Iv now got a week off work aswel so il be able to make alot more progress: Il be repairing the rusty rear arch (trust me it looks worse in the photos) and filling in any other mis-perfections so that the car can be sprayed one colour, The coilovers will be going on, Spraying up some of the interior panels and having ago at converting the steering to power steering.

Heres some pics.. Let me know what u think ;)
