Owned this now for a few months but not yet made a thread. Constantly giving me grief, but I'm starting to like her now, so she deserves a thread  Just a basic 1.4cl 8v, for the moment atleast, planning to drop a V5 engine in eventually, once all the rust has been sorted  Following photos taken by a mate (the rover is his)

Each to their own, it definitely splits opinion  Some people love it, other people think it looks awful. I think it'll look better with more pink bits done, which is happening when payday comes around

ohh hai

It looks alright...

Apart from the grille IMO

Well fancy seeing you here :p fixed your polo yet? And I know the grille won't be to everyones taste, but I like it enough that I'm going to be doing the lower grille and a few other bits to match  My Nankangs arrived today, so when I get my adapter back from willashcroft, I'll be getting the cookie cutters fitted :D

You can only blame yourself! ;)

It's not that low, and there's barely any scrapes on it either :? I'm wondering if metal fatigue has played a part and taking a slight knock has split it, seeing as its lived most its life by the seaside

Cheers Randall, just bought another sump cheap off here to get me running again, but I think a shallow sump will be my next mod :)

Results of a good days hooning means the Polo needs a wash, it's like a massacre on the front

Also picked these up from the autojumble at Greenham common today, I'm determined to somehow make them fit! 7J Camaro wheels, and aparently ET0, could take a lot of work.

Speedbumps with stones cemented in caused a slight annoyance, and I may have accidentally woken up half the street doing this and getting stuck.

Oops

Matt

keep at it matt. whats the overall plan?

  • Author

Overall plan is to try and get it to last more than a fortnight without something needing replacing. Last nights mishaps mean I need a new exhaust hanger and downpipe, because I'm fairly sure my downpipe isn't supposed to look like this

DSC00058-1.jpg

Matt

no its not lol but thats what you get for been low, i went through 4 down pipes because the bit you have taken a pic of snapped i even thought about cutting it off and welding a bit of pipe in its place

Plan not going too well at the moment. Few days after getting it back on the road and I came across a Kamikaze rabbit. More bits to replace

Went down to Portsmouth for the cruise in memory of Nadine Blake, which gave me an excuse to paint more of the polo pink seeing as the theme of the night was pink  And my exhaust keeps falling apart, so it gets very loud on occasion
