My god don't agree to the fine!

Protest it!

My uncle is a criminal barister and says basically if you appeal it, they will send u you are fine telling u when to pay it by, take the letter, write back and explain that you would like to see proof as you do not believe that you were on the roads at that time/place or that u wouldnt go through a red light.

State you are so sure of this that you would be willing to provide a statuatory statement (hand on book honesty basically) that you believe u didnt do it.

The amount of processing they have to go through when u declare a statuatory statement isnt worth them issueing the fine.

i know a guy that wrote a letter saying that the picture they sent did not look like his car.

he put his badges back on his golf and ditched the german plate. then sent a pic

they dropped all charges

On a related point, I'm sure I saw something on the TV yesterday about someone who tried to avoid a speeding fine by taking a 40mph speed sign and putting it on a lamppost next to where he was caught, then photographing the scene to prove the limit was 40 (except it wasn't, it was a 30 zone). They examined the surface of the sign and identified scratches and blemishes, then proved where he'd 'borrowed' it from. He got done for the speeding AND attempting to mislead the authorities.
