We use norbar wrenches at work and they are very good, dont know about prices though.

Tried halfrauds?

£50 is'nt going to get you a decent new one, the Halfords 40~200 is around £75 and the 60~300 £85

You might find a decent make used on ebay for that sort of money

I've done them so many times i don't use one anymore. First time i didn't have the torque wrench with me and needed to bolt the head down on a 1.8 A3, just looked at the bolts (small, tiny heads iirc) and decided how much they needed turning, that was well over a year ago and it's still going strong.

Didn't bother with the current head on my Polo either. But i still use it for the drive shafts, as it's hard to get them consistent without one and a CV shearing it's bolts (it does happen) can have fatal consequences.

But not everyone is as good as you Mikey.

Check machine mart, usually quite reasonable for that kind of thing.

For head bolts you dont really need one that high a torque, should do the torques then the angles with a bar and an angle gauge

Try Draper mate, not too sure how much they are. But decent tools and competitively priced

Never torqued my driveshaft bolts up :s haha just do them tight as fuck lol!

Aren't you supposed to replace the driveshaft bolts every time too?

Who does that?

Yeah, I forget sometimes. When you're the advanced species as myself, you kinda just expect everyone else to keep up. I completely forget how spartan my knowledge was when I was young.

Some people talk down to others. I do try not to, instead treating everyone like they act average but are actually, secretly, incredibly clever. Makes me feel like I'm not on my own.

Then I read one of Eric's posts..
