need help with compressor

hey dudes my uncle gave me his old compressor had been standing for 10 years out side plugged it in and away it went .. I've striped it all down now for a rebuld its a 35ltr 3hp romac compressor.. from like the 1970s i think lol!.. my question is when the compressor reaches its max psi it doesn't shut off... is there like a shut off valve or pressure switch or something i can buy?

There should be a gauge and switch unit built in to it check connection on back for corrosion and check the wires

i cant see no switch its really old did the old compressors have one? where should it be?

I'd imagine it should be between the compressor motor and the inlet to the tank. Without seeing the actual compressor it's hard to say

got a problem with mine aswell

Mine wouldnt kick back in tho without pressing reset button.

Now it just hums when i press reset. :
