6N2 Aircon Climatronic Conversion

Featured Replies

I have for sale the following components required to convert your normal heaters/dial AC setup to a full climatronic setup:

climatronic panel with full heater matrix system.

all pipe work/plumbing to and from the aircon pump.

2x aircon pumps.

some wiring on the matrix.

I can also provide wiring diagrams to anyone wanting to retrofit this into another vehicle.

I'm after a solid £140 ono collected from northampton or nearby. PM me if you want this. 8-)

I'm open to sensible offers on this...summers almost here and this'll make a nice upgrade to any 6N2 or 6N with 6N2 with a conversion, it'll also increase the value of the vehicle 8-)

up we go...this isn't super difficult to fit, just requires the dash to come out (6 bolts here and there, a cable ties to be cut)...then heater matrix removed after the water is drained from the coolant system...make a cut in the bulkhead from inside the car that allows the pipes to enter the bay.

You will then need an auxilery belt for a GTI with aircon...possibly the bracket that holds the alternator- not hard to get hold of, plenty breaking and i may even have one you can have.

plumb it all in...dash back in...aircon pump wired up...sorted. 8-)

my guess would be the heater matrix and climatronic panel...as long as the rear hoses leading out of the back of the matrix are the same thats all you need.

If you want this setup gimme a shout with an offer on pm, i dont fancy breaking it and being left with parts so you'd have to buy the lot and sell off the bits you dont need most likely making your money back in the process :-D

Dug this setup out and took some pics of it...worth my asking as i just had to buy a pressure switch for my climatronic on the golf mk4 i have and it set me back £47 with discount from vw! i'm selling EVERYTHING required...compressor, pipes, matrix, climatronic display...

i've hooked it up so you know how it fits together...came off a low mileage GTI 4yrs ago and dry stored in my garage. 8-)

this pic shows the connections the interior harness makes to the matrix- take a look at your own matrix for the same plugs...

up we go- so many time wasters its crazy...

Id be interested, but taking the dash out and doing all of this work +the £50 regas is a lot of work and money when I'm not sure how to do it.

Would it fit a 6n2 tdi?

Hi chris, you're right...its a lot of work, well for someone technically minded it would take approx 1-2 days to fit it all. The most difficult part is using an angle grinder to the bulkhead so the aircon pipes can be attached from the engine bay side to the heater matrix which will sit behind the dash.

I'm more than happy to help assist the buyer with my knowledge...and yes it will fit any 6n2 or even a 6n that has had a 6n2 dash conversion (like my 6n).

Where abouts does the radiator sit? As my engine bay is pretty jammed lol.

It sits in front of the normal radiator...once you see photos or someone elses setup, you'll see how it routes etc, i've broken a couple GTI's in the past and thats how i was first able to tell where the bits run etc.
