Was driving the car this week and thought to myself hmmm smells a bit petrol haha, then when I'd park up there was a massive a smell of petrol

so looked under the car and found around by the filter/pump/thingy there was dripping.

The drip was coming from there,

Can anyone tell what part this is so I can replace?

Also it looks pretty straight forward but anyone got any advice?

Its called an accumulator iirc, and if you have just run the car bear in mind the fiel lines are under pressure, you can disconnect fuel pump and run it to get rod of this if your that way inclined.

id change those fuel pipes while your there too if i were you! looks like there about to let go aswell!

Yes TPS do deal with the public (collecting some spares tomorrow :-) )

The price is from the vagcat site so not sure how upto date that is?

ECP might have it, a local motor factor would'nrt keep it in stock they'd order it from TPS

They might not have all the items on the shelf, but it normally only takes 48hrs to get the items, so best to phone them first to check on the price & availability, if they need to order any parts they may ask for payment up front before they will order them, just depends! If you do just turn up, print off the picture of the items and mark the bits you want it'll save you trying to describe the bits.

I would be suspect the accumulator is an obsolete item so possible scrapyard search is a good idea.

But try VW or TPS first. Part number is #533 201 511 A

For some reason its listed as a filter but is infact a fuel resevoir/swirlpot to make sure the main pump doesnt run dry.
