Hi there, got a Breadvan Project. Just need to tips/pointers on what I need to do to get it finished.

First off, it's on bikecarbs. So it's quick, but the brakes you have to put your foot through the firewall to stop it. It's got

G40 front discs already, is there an upgrade to make it a less push down the on petal itself?

Second, the fuel gauge is not working right, all over the place up down even when you filled it? Any suggestions?

Third. I'm putting it on a set of Banded 14" G60 steels. They have not yet been banded because I don't know what the biggest dish I could go on the back would be to still get it tucking? Any ideas?

Mk2 Polo's do not have a brake servo, so basically as hard as you can press the pedal is how hard you can brake there are limited options though. I have heard of people using a mk3 servo and some Scirrocco parts to basically create a linkage to have a nearside servo.

You could put a mk3 bulkhead into your mk2 which would also solve the no servo issue.

But realistically do you need the extra braking capabilties? I understand you are fitting a more powerful engine, but all that is going to do improve acceleration. So in theory you shouldn't have a higher top speed, so why would you need bigger/more powerful brakes? Obviously unless your going to be doing trackdays or something.

Fuel guage could just be the fuel level sensor

As for the wheels, I think you would find it near impossible to fit banded steels to the back, unless you have some crazy offset? The problem being in the straight edged rear arches.

Same for the first two.

StinkyPete is selling some golf arches he had welded into his breaddy. Most you can get under is like 6j :L

With the brake problems I would advise doing a fluid change and adjusting the rear drums as there is usaully quite a bit of travel there and this can cause the pedal to go to the floor. If you want an upgrade the rear the the 200mm drums will be your best option. With the wheels your gunna struggle with anything over 6 even with a 6j the et needs to be as close to 40 as possibly to have no problem

I have 165/60s on 14" g60s on my breadvan and they dont scrub at all, car is lowered too

Arches only recently been rolled, it was fine without them being rolled too
