Xenon Washers stuck?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

My first post and doubtfully my last...

I have bought a 6n2 GTi recently and for the first couple of days the Xenon washersworked fine and all of a sudden both have stopped working. I think they are squirting still but they arent popping out of the body work. I am a bit of a heavy handed clutz and don't really want to attempt popping them out with a screwdriver to find out I havesnapped something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Right first off I have to ask the stupid questionsjust to get it out the way.

You know they only squirt with the headlights on font you?

They got enough water in the bottle?

If you have the bonnet open and get a friend to squirt them and listen for the pump to see if that's not working. If it isn't then check the fuse for it, if that's ok you can check it has a 12v feed to the pump when in operation, if it does the pump is fucked.

If you can here the pump then I would personally take the bumper off and disconnect them at the jets then squirt them and make sure water is coming out (to see if there is any pipe blockages) if its a weak flow then check pipes for blockage or possibly the pump has weakened.

If its flow fine then it's probably faulty jets or they are jamming. Trying working them manually (pipes disconnected) if they don't move they may be fucked. If they move try reconnecting it all and test.

Edit: could also be a faulty relay, if you need one i have one... £15 delivered
