Polo Mk2 Rear Wiper

Featured Replies

Hi all

I need your help. Just replaced the Rear Wiper Motor on my 1989 VW Polo. This was because it didn't work, however when I tried the new one it still didn't work. It's not the fuse as the blowers still work. Any ideas?

Check the relay and the switch

have you tried connecting it straight to the battery to test the motor?

most often its the wires broken where they go into the tailgate

Where is the relay and switch? Where abouts into the tailgate?

open the boot....theres a black rubber boot on the passenger side near the hinge , the wires are in there

If the front wash/wipe works ok but neither the washer pump nor the wiper motor operates when you push the stalk for the rear wash/wipe then it's more likely to be the indicator stalks themselves at fault

The washer pump at the rear works and the switch works as I can hear it clicking inside. I'm not sure what else to do.

I'm not sure what else to do.

how about try what i said ..I'm confident its that

The motor was tested fine and working when it came off the tailgate. Check the wires in the rubber boot at the top left of the boot lid aren't broken.
