Been on here a while now and i thought i should make a thread, so heres my little red 6n2, my first car and i love it to bits




sticker bombed the heating surround



then sprayed my steelies





thought i would try something different, but did'nt like it in the end



sprayed the badge black



fitted the 6x9's but these are going soon and gunna start a boot build



then these came



will be fitting them later on today, so will update it later

Just got some new wheels bbs 15" with 165/50/15

Cheeky sticker

just started to spray all the interior parts

thought i would give the door cards a good scrub as they were pretty scuffed up and covered in filth

Ohhh nasty!!! Did you pull to hard, I sprayed some paint on a small paint brush to do my bit of the mirror holder, came out nice was worried that would happen, was it easy getting the cover off that goes round speedometer dials ? Hope you get it sorted mate

naa it was when i was trying to put it back on it just cracked under the pressure, and yeah getting that part off was easy theres just 1 screw underneath and the rest are clips. Also called my insurance company today and there sending someone over tomorrow to put a new screen in for 75 quid, so all in all not bad as i wanted to replace the screen anyways as it was all milky on the sides. :p

bought a new gear knob of ebay for a quid! Bargain :p and got a new gaitor for a five, looks loads better

Got some fog lights and grill surroundings and a gti grill for £40 bargain! :p

Also got some new pads and discs, not bad for £60 from GSF

anyone know if the caliper, need to be winded back in? or can i just use my trusty screw driver?

BIG UPDATE!

So i haven't updated it for a while, been busy with a new job etc, now I'm settled in and got some money rolling in i can do abit more progress, so heres a few updates...

decided i would refurb the wheels so i went for a polished lip with black centres:

and after i gave her good polish and wax. she was looking at her best :p

then yellowed the fogs, I'm really liking them

i then went an inch lower all round, safe to say getting in and out of the drive is a close'un

i then had to roll the arches, when i put on 10mm spacers as they were rubbing like a bitch, even on a flat ground, and took the paint back to bare metal. so thats another thing on the agenda to fix :(

Then i got a Gti splitter for free, was a little bit battered but i DA'd it down to remove all the scratches and gave it a few coats of aerosol black. i think it now looks 100 times better

Thats it for now, hopefully more lows soon and news wheels.

i love that sticker bombing mate! i wanted to spray my interior parts, is it easy enought to get them out?

So i haven't updated this in a while been real busy, but i have finally got some progress with her

First things first got a chassis notch and got the ARB removed, not bad for £50 :P

Then replaced the rear shoes and master cyclinders for the M.O.T

i got bored of it for a while so i resprayed the RZ's and wound the coilys down a bit more

Then this happened! right bummer, went straight into the back of her, just wasn't paying attention i guess, damaged a fair bit on mine: Slam panel, indicator, headlight, bumper, bonnet, wing and grille :( and she got away with just a bumper. I said to her that i would pay for it to be repaired to save it going through the insurance, would save me a lot of money in the future i guess.

But i looked on the bright side and took this as an opportunity to do some mods to the new, well newish parts. So i got a second hand bumper and bonnet for 55 quid not bad i thought but when i started working on it i realised why it was so cheap I'm glad I'm a painter haha.

Removed all the surface rust from underneath

Removed all stone chips

welded it up, splattered like crazy from all the sealer underneath

Then i realised the whole front of the bonnet was covered in dents for people slamming the bonnet so put a skim of filler over the entire front

Second skim and removed pin holes

Now thats done i could work on the bumper, smoothing the recess

removed and filled all the stone chips and little dents on the bumper

Thats about it for now, will try and update it as often as i can seeing as I'm actually making some progress with it.

Got the bumper, bonnet and bumpstrip ready for high build now, just got to wait on a few things to come through the post and will be back together soon ready for even more work :p

UPDATE!

might as well pick up from where i left off...

So got the bits in High build, yes its pink but thats the closest i could get it to red :/ .

Got started on the wings aswell, bought two second hand ones of ebay as mine were both completely ruined from rolling and cutting. So instead of rolling them and bringing the arches out i used a hammer and dolly to keep the arch flat without pushing it out which kept them looking complety standard but giving me the clearance i need. for more lowssss :P

And yes i did seal them to stop them from rusting.

Skim of filler, although they didn't really need it but did it anyway to keep them dead straight.

Now for painting, Base coat and lacquer..

how it was just after i fitted it back together

So i had a word with my boss, slipped him a 20 and he said i could work on my car during work hours managed to get the roof done aswell, as it was in a right state, bearing in mind the lacquers been on for 13 years..

sanded down..

thought i would tape the tailgate to stop it from scratching, when i pealed it off so did the lacquer, that was next on the agenda..

So instead of priming it i used 'high guard', its a thick layer of clear primer if you like that doesn't need to be sanded down and seals in any possible type of paint reaction, great stuff to use.

After hours on constant flatting and polishing i managed to get it like this:

changed the fogs from yellow to amber, to match the us side markers, PS never attempt to fit markers they are a pain in the ass!!

Got some new rubber for the RZ's 165, 45, 15, nice healthy stretch, first fitment test,

More lows needed so wound the coilys down all the way round! before and afters

thought i would treat it and bought a new splitter £71!!!!! from TPS, ROBBING BA***RDS

So um yeah this is the finished result

Top car this must have been registered at listers Stratford my dad had w whp as his registration.

Looks much better, personally think the us markers look abit off though, should have tried to get them in the bumpstrip!
