Hi, I have just bought my gf a vw polo 54 twist its 1.4 auto it comes with central locking but you need to use the key in the drivers door and that opens all 4drs and boot but i was wondering is there away or a person that knows how i can get it to work off a vw key fob or just buy a fob and get it to open and close via a remote.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

You won't be able to get a VW one to work.

You need to buy a after market remote central locking kit, seen as your is a 5 door you need to but it with 4 door actuators, then it's a case of fitting and wiring it all up

so there is no way i could use the central locking in the car and just set up a aftermarket remote.

I'm not to good with electrics id need to get a mobile alarm fitter in. Any one know of someone.

There are two ways of doing this, use original VAG parts or a universal remote kit from rclik

The Rclik requires experimenting with resistor values to provide the switching to the body control computer

I'm not good with electrics so id have to get someone in, whats the rclik one like any good. Is that the sort of thing i need though.

When you say fiddley to work if its set up right by the person is it easy to use and work ok as i dont want it going off anytime or at night lol or to open the car by itself

I'm not too far from you and I'm happy to help out. I did this on my car I first tried with the rclick kit and it didn't go well, so I used the original ccm from a car with remote locking and got a fob on eBay, worked a treat and was great quality as it is all original.

Hi, yeah that sounds great I haven't a clue what is needed though or to do. But if you are confident enough you can do it then all sounds good to me. When you say fob do u mean a seperate remote from the original key or do you mean a new key but with open and close on it.

Does anyone know if this is possible for a mk4 golf? I begrudge paying for an aftermarket piece of tat. Or if it had to be aftermarket, would I be able to pair up an original VW flip key?
