I have just fitted a replacement Comfort/convenience control Module to my 1.4S Polo 9N3 (07 plate)

Originally it had non remote central locking. The new CCM module, which is a genuine VW part, is a remote central locking unit.

The work to fit it ws easier than I expected (once I foudn the location of the module!) but I have a few issues since, that I hope are simple to fix.

Firstly a few config points that I believe I could fix with VCDS.

Currently selective unlocking is enabled - whereby only the drivers door unlocks on the first press of the button. 2 presses needed to open the passenger door etc. I think this can be changed via programming?

When driving and pullign away at about 10 mph or so all doors lock automatically. After stopping the engine when the key is removed they unlock again. I thinkt his can also be disabled?

Now to the point I am less sure of. The car is a 5 door model but currently the rear doors do not unlock automatically since he CCM module was repalced - this is the same whether I use the remote fob or the key in the drivers door. With the old CCM the rear doors do unlock when the key is used in the drivers door.

The boot does unlock though.

Can anyone advise me if the CCM module is different for a 3 door car to a 5 door car? Or do I just need to re-program the CCM via VCDS to tell it it's in a 5 door car and then it will operate the rear doors as well?

Lastly the middle button on the remote, which is supposed to unlock the boot only appears to do nothing. The button is working as the red light on the remote flashes when I press it but nothing else happens.

Any help or advise appreciated.

Selective unlocking and auto lock/ unlock are easily changed via vagcom, just check on rosstechs website.

On the unit itself it should say either 2 tuer or 4 tuer this literally means 2 or 4 doors. The unit I got was plug and play as it was a 4 door. What the guide in the faq section says is that you should have copied all the coding in the old unit before taking it out, then copy it over to the new unit when fitted. But it isn't that difficult to go through the settings and change to 4 door.

The middle button has to be held down until the indicators flash, then the boot is unlocked had me stumped too as I expected it to pop open. A bit pintless really.

Thanks for this - the new unit didn't have any reference to 2 tuer or 4 tuer at all on it.... So it looks like it has been setup for a 2 door car. So just to confirm that can be changed with VCDS? I don't need a different module to support 4 door?

The unit I bought was in theory already setup and suppsed to be plug & play, though when my copy of VCDS arrives I am happy to make the changes I want. It was just the 2 door / 4 door thing that concerned me in case I needed a different module.

No I don't think you would need another unit, but I can't say for sure as I didn't have to do any thing with vcds etc. Gave you read the guide in the faq section? As this details the process as the op had the same problems. Iirc my ccm came from a skoda fabia but its the same unit and I read somewhere it's the same part number.

I got my copy of VCDS and was able to programme the features I wanted - including switching from 2 to 4 door operations. Disable auto lock/unlock and switch off selective unlocking.

Easily done with VCDS!

It is a really useful but of kit, so well worth having around.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Any idea what part number you used for your 9n3? Was it "6Q0 959 433 E" or "1C0 926 258 AA"

Wish you took pictures! I'm going to have a go tomorrow and could do with some pointers as to where the original CCM is actually located beforehand!

I can't seem to find the location for this CCM. I've had a really good look but to no avail. There are a couple of similar looking modules but not the same as my replacement. Can anyone help?

Where did you go to program the 2/4 door bit? I can find the Auto-Lock, selective unlocking, but not the 4 door bit?
