Woa yeh it was me who said i can do the printing, i work in *cough* staples *cough* lol so i can get them done either very cheap, or maybe free!

i did 400 name cards for myself for free, they are fairly lax!

oh and my suggestion is:

not sure if it is just my browser (chrome) but when ever i do a search, the default search is a standard google one? so it is only after clicking search, that you can choose the "search club polo" radial?

surely the default search should be within club polo?

i can have a look at the code if you want me to?

maybe this would encourage people to search before posting, i do think that once your searching in the right place, the search feature is pretty good! but that's google for you....

looking at the wrong search maybe? Top of page, just above the new topic box it says 'search'. you need to click on that one. The other box is for general internet searches.

but why not make the search at the top default into cp?

I've thought that too thom, but most people ask the same stuff which can often be answered on the first result from searching via goolgle.

On another topic, I'm getting annoyed at the amount of non-members posting wanted adds in the for sale sections. Give me mod powers and I'll keep it spangly clean!

The wanted ads in the for sale section are annoying but I keep on top of them as much as possible.

How bout an icon at the side of each thread, which indicates if you've posted in there? I never remember

How about setting up a paypal system like ebay off this site for buying and selling parts to other members.

Just thought this rather than buying something off a member and having to put the payment as a gift to recieve the item.

Dont know if this is a repost or not but i think the club as a whole should organise group sessions like paintballing, go karting etc like a huge meet but like a gathering sort of thing id be well up for it, seen as though a lot of people dont really know each other would be ace plus I'm sure places would do massive group discounts all youd have to do is probably do them central or different ones around the country i dont know what other people think just an idea.

I've mentioned this before but can it be made law (ok, club polo law) for people to put their location on the cars for sale ads. Even just a 'general' location. Maybe even have it a seperate thing on the side of the thread title?

Its a pain in the arse looking through polo threads to find one in your area of the country...all the polos seem to merge in to one when your looking down the list.

There are a few ways of achieving this:

1. Click "My Assistant" then "My last 10 posts" or

2. Click your name in the top left and the posts tab or

3. Click your name in any post and "View posts"

Oh right, thats a shame, I'm not in to breaking things up (like they have on edition) but something at the side would help.

Just a comment about the amount of sticky'ed important info in the engine,transmission and exhaust section.

Basically theres so much sticky'ed info there leaving only 14 lines of new active threads that soon get shunted down the roster. I'm seeing the same question getting asked that was asked like 2 days or even 1 day before. Is there a way it could be tidied up into the F.A.Q's ? maybe slimmed down in some way?

Just an observation really, I'm not loosing sleep lol.

make one section for the stickeys...tagged stickys, where u click on it and it hyperlinks you to the stickys section for each catagory?

In a way, I'd agree, but at the same time, a good proportion of those questions that're getting asked repeatedly have an answer in the FAQs or the stickies. The reason we pin them is in the hope people will look at them before posting.

I suggest we make Rich a moderator so he can do something usefull asides from just add sarcasm.

I don't actually think I was being sarcastic there.

Thing is, there's a set of options:

1. Leave it as is. When you open a section, you're presentted with a list of common faults on polos, an archive of FAQs, which admittedly, need a tidy, and the last few topics of discussion

2. Put the whole lot in the FAQ, it's an option, meaning that the current topics of discussion are prominent, but I think it'll make it harder to find.

3. Delete a few of them, or remove them from pinned status.

I personally think, the best option is if we have the really common stuff pinned, and useful articles in the FAQ. Downside is, there's a time commitment involved in actually doing it, and what goes where is subjective.

The other subjective thing, and I ask you to bear this in mind is that whatever we do, there's always an arguement to the contrary. Doesn't mean we're saying we're always right, though I'm sure there's some people out there who'll say we're always wrong, it just means there's multiple ways of doing anything, so please don't take it as a reason to flame us at every opportunity.... could this be a contributory reason to why a lot of our staff aren't on much?

I appreciate your in a loose loose situation and theres quite a bit of work involved with tidying it up and deciding what to keep pinned and in the F.A.Q's. I certainly trust you guys to sort it and would be prepared to back you up with folk who get on their high horses if you change it.

Maybe some of the basic info could be within the Polo chat, suppose theres no wrong solution. Your always going to get repeated questions anyway because people just want instant solutions for cars especially the earlier mk's that imo need a bit of investment of knowledge and hands on.

yeti i agree with u, i didnt mean to sound like i was telling u what to do lol, just an idea...although it would be tidy, it would, as you said, make things harder to find.

but a good tidy up of what is usefull and what is not. trouble is what is usefull? you may think one isnt when people really do use it...i gues su can do it by seeing how many views and replys there are. I'm sure admin will decide the best way to solve this problem....

as for rich...i think he might make the admin team a litle bit more interesting (not for the best btw lol)
