Not sure if this has been suggested before but I can't really be bothered reading through 13 pages of suggestions... Anyway, my suggestion, how about we have a tutorials/guides section?

If such a thing was implemented here I would like to see guidelines written for it, clear, simple steps and pictures as often as possible, for example. I think it would be a very professional looking feature, if you know what I mean. It would take some time get going but if people put the effort in it would be very useful.

Not really a suggestion but more of a bug report. When reporting a post/thread the loading time between clicking the send button and the thread loading up again is a bit long, all others links are fine.

Got to give the forum enough time to send off report and then reload the page, sure its not to much of an issue.

I personally think its a good idea but for now nothing will happen until forums are updated to the newest software.

Without wishing to make us sound like a stuck record, with the new forum software things should be better! We're looking into integrating a Wiki page to incorporate our existing FAQs as well as some new content.

I keep seeing this suggested, but what would it actually achieve that openning the forum in your browser doesn't? Admittedly I've only got a £50 un-smartphone, but I use the forum on my mobile lot and it works fine.

I'm told its because the server's hard drives aren't fast enough, we upgraded to a different server a while ago and it's better in every way apart from the speed of the drives (and guess what seems to make the most difference? ). I think the plan is to see if the forum update improves things at all, and if that doesn't work, spend some monies.

A better way of organising the guides is definately something we want to do.

I have a MK3 and instead of trying to search for a problem and getting back far too many useless results or having to browse through each category IE wheels, body etc.. would make sense to have a MK3 section with easily selectable sections with only well documented fixes. It may even make sense to do the same if not incorporate with a mod section. so say i pop into the mk3 section i have then faults guides and then a mod section with a list of all documented mods in once place and easy to follow.

How about a suggestions sub-forum. That way, ideas, submitted as individual threads, could be edited and added to, making new features and ideas easier to develop, and their progress easier to track. Ideas wouldn't be posted multiple times, making a particular idea easy to find. Rejected ideas wouldn't be suggested again.

I suggested a better alternative ages ago, as this would involve splitting up everything into model subforums. Have tick boxes of all relevant models when starting a thread. Have tick boxes in the search to find threads only related to the models you're searching for. See relevant results only. Threads already posted would be classified as time goes by, by the thread starters or mods, or people could report unclassified ones with suggestions to make it easy on the mods (or you could get a volunteer squad to do it).

And why does it say 10000 users on the homepage? Surely the forum package has a user count package? Couldn't it be set to say 'There are currently [live number of registered users count] users'? Then it would never need to be updated :)

I suppose these are the sort of updates we have to wait for the forum update to be initiated first. But it would make searching and finding for relevant threads much easier! Or better to just browse through for ideas rather than posting a new topic every day asking.

Suggested this before and got a load of shit like 'the best thing about Club Polo is there is no signatures & 'I would rather leave than have signatures.'

I think it would be great as long as good limitations were in place. Personally I would suggest image size restriction of 500x150 (as pictured) with a limitation of one image and a small amount of text (100 characters or so).

If people don't like seeing signatures they can just turn them, off in their personal settings so I don't really see a down side.

The whole sig thing has been discussed before, they just clutter up the page. We already have the avatar to hold a picture of your car or what ever you want.

Also it can be a bit of a pain with mobile browsers. So sorry, they won't be in use on CP.

I'm pretty sure like buttons be discussed before and the general consensus was 'Aww hell no!'.

I just think it will get rid of alot of rubbish posts, on nearly every thread theres a post just quoting something with a :) underneath and seems to clog up the threads

I think its a good idea user name pic job on forum etc so people will know who they are for shows etc if they dont already :)
