Just an option to managed your own posts... Delete (entire post only) not comments admins can deal with that.

Can we pay for extra PM storage

What about an iPhone/Android app? Or even a mobile-friendly site.. personally I think this would be really handy for meets/shows, tech info when working on the car, marketplace section and just in general viewing the site :) anyone have any thoughts on this?

This has been discussed several times, search.

App - why not

Mobile site - defiantly not

Just my 2p

Make all members pay the £5 fee a year... Change join up so they can only join as a paid member (no more users)

More money towards forum

You may lose a few but they will eventually come round as they won't be able to do much (regular users that don't pay)

All the people who join just for a couple of questions of help... More money in the kitty, if they're desperate then then they will pay it.

It's £5 a year I don't even comprehend why people are such tight arses?!

Even a few of the long term members are users yet regular posters... Its not really supporting the forum.

People seem to want something/some case everything for nothing

Make every fucker pay... Just my 2p's worth

this is no good, sell something dodgy, delete post so buyer has no evidence? no way.

please don't do this

it would be good for build threads.

Nothing gets deleted initially, just moved to an area of the forum people can't see, so we could look it up for them. Eric's right though, it'd be great if we could let people moderate their build threads, it's something I need to look into.

And app... Why? Never known anyone except iphone uses think we need one. I bought my phone for 50 quid 2 years ago and the site (except admincp) works great on it.

I possess an iPhone and don't even think an app is needed, even browsing without 3G it's not really a problem, wifi and decent Internet it's fine. Unless everyone's fingers are too fat or something

Ridiculous idea

The amount of forums I've gone to join and realized I've had to pay...

Did i pay?? did i fuck

It would be the downfall of this site, why do you think its so sucessfull?

People wouldn't pay, they would simply look elsewhere.

The way we used to handle membership packs was a total ballache, to the point where it was easiest to write about 100 membership cards and envelopes out by hand every month, so staff (myself included) used to start doing it with great intentions, and get utterly sick of it, backlogs happened and never got sorted. It was a bad way to be running a club, and we can only apologise.

The good bit is, I'm hoping that's now old news and it's sorted. I spent quite a while earlier this year chucking the long-arsed way we used to do memberships and working out a far easier way. We launched this in March, I sent 716 packs out between March and the end of September to test the system. Having ironed out the bugs, we're at the point now where one person can do a month's worth of packs (normally upwards of 100) in a couple of hours, which is an absolute dream compared to how it was.

In September, I handed the membership packs over to Cymro, who's been doing a great job on them.

As far as I know, he' up to date to the 1st December, any that haven't been sent between October and the start of December are in hand (that's a very small number).

We've not posted any this month because we didn't want them getting lost in the Christmas post, but I'm told the bulk of this month's ready to go in the post.

I've coverring sending the packs out for anyone who joins or renews in January 2013, I'll probably do two batches, for 1-15 Jan, and then for 16-31 Jan, and post them shortly after the end of each period.

So, with that problem sorted, we've been looking around at what else the club used to do and should be doing better. We used to have a fairly good shop, so we're looking at getting that back where it was, and bringing some more useful stuff to it. Mark Crox has been doing a great job of this, and it's not taken anyone away from doing memberships because Cymro has those covered, with myself to assist if needed.

Agree with that entirely. many many hours of my freetime was poured into doing the packs and it just seemed a never ending job! writing each and every card and envelope was more than a ballache tbh. the only comment i have on the new system is the membership cards are abit naff. leaving mine attached to the covering letter as it seems too fragile to remove.

They're not too bad actually, I've had one of the test ones in the back of my wallet between a couple of cards I don't use much (Toni and Guy's discount card or something) for the last 6 months, and it's no worse than the old card looked after the same amount of time.

Mark's done a more flashy design, so one of the jobs on the list is to implement that.

wtf you got a toni & guys card for? just incase you feel like geting highlights?? hahaha

Tbh the printing on my card is mainly missing, but I know there were printer issues at one point

Yeah, we found out inkjet didn't work well, so laser print them all now.

Wish you'd said yesterday, I'd got a box of the old cards with me so I could have written you one out.

prefer the old design tbh. if a way could been envisaged of printing them out complete with details on then you'd be onto a winner

I still use the old old cards when I need to do a one-off replacement card for someone, that's what yours is IIRC.

Mines a new one mr yeti

There were printer issues, they have to be printed in batches of 20 or the ink doesnt seem to stick to well to them.

I do try to weed them out as much as possible and reprint the dodgy ones.

Was thinking about a new sticker design? Ours is a bit plain, still like it and would still rock the orginal but a nice new design would be good :p

What does every one think?

Feel free to float a design. I like the current one though because it's not specific to a certain sort of polo, early, late, low, standard, etc....
