Yeah I must agree that I prefer to see pictures of the item that I'm buying even if I know what it already looks like. But I don't think we could enforce a picture rule.... will have a chatter to the rest of the team this weekend.

On the 350Z forum you have to have a pic of the item along with the date and your username on it. It doesn't really achieve much and makes selling stuff a pain in the arse. Fair enough if it's a car, but for a new set of brake pads still in their box it seemed pointless.

They also have a minimum post count requirement before you can sell anything. This is also gay. We've had scammers on here rack up a few hundred posts before striking, but I still had to post banal crap on there to get the requisite number of posts to advertise. Apparently they want you to 'contribute', which is fine if there was sufficient interesting debate and discussion to contribute to...

yeah the username and post count thing is gayness, but i dont see an issue with just a picture, it takes 2 minutes. or maybe some instructions on uploading a pic when you are creating your for sale thread?

I think for some stuff it makes sense, e.g. set of wheels I'd take pics of because condition is important. Whereas if I'm buying a set of new brake pads that are still in the box I'm not so bothered. Fact is, pictures help sell stuff, so it's in the seller's interest to put up some decent photos if the item warrants it. Making it mandatory is just another thing to police, and there's already a lot of backlash against the existing rules.

Agree on both parts here really, I like to see what I'm buying, even though it could be something small and insignificant, its nice to see it exists.

Fair enough buying off a known member or similar you wouldn't be too bothered, but yeah, someone you dont know of or have met I prefer to know it exists.

Cars are ones that get me, frequently see massively out of date pictures which arn't a true representation of the car as it stands when is for sale.

Fair enough you should ask for more or arrange a viewing, but the ad should be what initally makes your decision on if youre interested or not

A swear filter is one thing, but some times you need to use the words WO,T or brought (why hasn't that gone to octopuses this time?), there are even times when you might want to use the word y,a but can because it gets changed.

Must admit my main gripe is poorly written for sale adverts (the ones which have most of the words spelt wrong), so if you see one with random words in caps I'm either a) having a bad day, b) too much time on my hands, c) in the full belief that the writer is a chimpanzee (sometimes all 3 apply).

Went on to a Civic forum yesterday (sisters new car) and literally all the threads looked like that. I wanted to claw my eyes out after reading half a sentence.

All I wanted to know was a fix for the windscren wipers not working, instead I had feelings of depression and impending doom.

What do you expect when doing/asking/thinking anything about a ricermobile
