I was just thinking, how about a speadsheet with a list of major components, and what models they are compatible with?

maybe green for straight fit, yellow for minor modification i.e. would be able to do at home with basic tools and knowledge and red for heavy modification i.e. specialist tools, in depth knowledge?

As a few have suggested about the location of people when they are selling items, any new forum member now has a mandatory field on location upon registration.

Hopefully this will help a little, we don't need precise locations of their house but roughly the area will help.

I suggest a Tool Bank, (if not all ready suggested)

You could have section where members/no-members could list specialist tools that other members could borrow (if they live near enough to each other)
