Suggestion: Some sort of system where people can rate buyers/seller? Maybe a thread where peoples names are listed in the top post and comments/ratings can be added? Might help people know who they are likely to be able to trust...help with buying/selling safety a little? Or maybe beside "club member" on the left you could have "approved seller" for people who receive good feedback?

I think that would be a good idea - I'd also like to see the General chat section come back, but maybe for club members only?

Maybe you could be a little less anal about locking/moving/deleting threads??

Thats because they got rid of off-topic like old gits, and people have resorted to posting in polo chat anyway...

tsk

Bring back general chat section, whoever decided to remove it in the first place needs there nuts cut off :retard:

I'm starting to agree with this. some mods are getting a bit trigger happy with deleting topics 'not polo related' etc. its getting pathetic! some lad puts a post up a about areally cool paint of a car ( fair enough if it was of a house). straight away 'locked by me, non polo related' what is this? some kinda moderator points system????

If the sell posts up to say it has sold then i always try to lock the post

It might be an idea to have an auto delete facility, if, say, there has been no activity on the post for 4 weeks, it aint gonna sell is it? So if it's possible on this forum (it might not have the facility) just bin it after 4 weeks.

i dont know if anybody would like it but i think there should be a picture of the month or even week forum where people post up their picture and it gets rated by the clubpolo users........winner holds the title for a week or month etc

car of the month

I've seen this work very well on ukmkiv's golf website when i was on there.

people put them selfs forward with a pic of there car then they are voted for by the users

another quick one

i reckon within each topic for the moddification section... engine/interior/exterior/electrical, lighting there should be sub forums MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4, MK5, MK6, MK7

Id love to help advise people more but find it difficult when theres so many other mk's that I'm not that clued up on

would be much easier if it were seperated into the different mk's to help people when searching for information thats specific for them

Bring back the off topic disscussion place... Its well boring on here now no one is chatting at all. I mean fair play on keeping bandwidth down but I'm sure you can hire a few more mods to sort out the crap from the good chats... Since taking it away the amount of posts have gone down considerably but theres just fook all to talk about now.

Well at least you can safely say that you'll lose 40% of your members if you don't bring it back

all my opinion btw :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I was thinking about this the other day. We could vote on the best picture every month, and the winning images could even be made into a calendar at the end of the year, ready for 2008.

what about a clubpolo poster

say we coude pick what car was the best show car for 2007 or 2008

then some spotty 15 year old nerd can have a posh wank over a G40 on his bedroom wall

Members only general forum section and car of the month are both good ideas.

They certainly are.

Is the talk shit chat section coming back? because now people are just chatting shit in the car sections instead anyway?

bring back the members mug shots post

it was good to see what other members looked like

makes it easier for shows/meets aswell

split up the for sale section like 38.

or make a seperate sub-forum for cars that are being broken

yeah i definantly agree that we should have a car of the month that would be cool

Not sure if this has already been suggested, but a Club Polo Calendar for 2008. People could submit their pics of their cars, with real name and username. I've got a Demon VW one for this year. Its great, and thought it could be a great idea for club polo too

definatly devide the help sections into "mk" specific

will also make it easier when serching for help because it narrows down the search.

How about a list of Good / Bad sellers on here?

Basically a sticky in the for sale forums of trusted sellers or untrustworthy sellers. I think it would be very helpful for people who are looking to buy goods off the forum but are a bit wary of doing so. It should be a locked sticky that is only updated by admin/mods.

If you receive a good service you nominate the seller, and likewise if you have problems with a seller then you nominate them giving details of the poor transaction.

They have one on the Cliosport forum i used to frequent a lot, it's proved very useful.

If there's already one on here then please ignore me and point me in the direction of it, i've a feeling i'll soon need to add somebody to the Untrustworthy list

Oops someone's already suggested it...

Increase the maximum size a photo file can be. Most people have digital cameras, and all the photo's I've taken with mine are far too big and wont upload!

Make the pics smaller?

If you wanna know how gimme a PM, its quite easy with free tools on the net.. I think haveing large pics on the forum only slow the page loading down, and really not needed!

i agree with stu bout the sub forums for help so people with the same mark can talk technical. sort it just the the pic gallery as this is good

Is there any way we can get the feature that automatically re-sizes pictures posted in a thread turned off?

I'd understand if they were huge pics or even just bigger than the thread/topic window, but it's pissing me of that I have to click on every picture to see them in detail. If it's a standard feature with the forum then no worries, but if not, can we please look at changing it?

possibly set it so it only resizes MAJOR LARGE images.. like ones over 900pixels+

but pics that are only 800x600 dont really need a rezise as most can view them normally anyway
