Is there any way we can get the feature that automatically re-sizes pictures posted in a thread turned off?

I'd understand if they were huge pics or even just bigger than the thread/topic window, but it's pissing me of that I have to click on every picture to see them in detail. If it's a standard feature with the forum then no worries, but if not, can we please look at changing it?

possibly set it so it only resizes MAJOR LARGE images.. like ones over 900pixels+

but pics that are only 800x600 dont really need a rezise as most can view them normally anyway

i kno it gets filled with 'ah my lifes shit my girlfreind slept with my dogs brother' but some times say for about this time of year people get thier UNI places etc they just want to show off about it let people know, share their excitement

I too was a bit baffled by this new feature, but I've sussed it all out now...

The images are actually resized based on YOUR screen resolution, down to half the width of the screen.

So, if like me you're running 1280x1024, an 800 pixel wide image would be scaled down to 640 pixels wide. Rubbish.

I have now changed the resize percentage to 75%, so on 1280x1024, an image has to be over 960 pixels wide before it's resized.

Over 50% of our users are running 1024x768 however, so for them the limit is now 768 pixels. I may increase it a bit more to make 800.

**I've now increased it to 80%, which means a whopping 1024 pixels for 1280x1024 users, and 819 pixels for 1024x768 users.

I think it should be a good feature now it's set up properly, as only seriously large images will now be reduced.

I love the image resizing feature, it means you can post huge images without blowing up the thread.

Is there anything new concerning the wikipedia section? I think that would be a great addition, and the sooner it materialises the better, as a permanent and dynamic way of recording tons of different bits of information.

for the staff here i wouldnt get the shoutbox, it has far to many SQL exploits......, i used ipb and run my owns sites and have pretty good knowledge on coding and adding mods to ipb and thats one way my site got hacked, just a heads up for u lot.

i do think an introduction area is a good idea so many people join here and try to say ello and not everyone welcomes them, i think everyone should at least welcome people to the site through an introduction area

No the windows are sized to each monitor using the nVidia software. But it should show up as one monitor in forums stats and such like.
