Hi guys,

New on here, and never owned a Polo before, so will no doubt be looking for some help.

I have, however, owned a few VAG motors in the past, starting with a 1.8T Mk4 Golf GTI, then a V6 4Motion, then an A3 (8P), before a couple of A4 (B8) Avants.

Currently have a 100+ mile daily commute though, so my current fleet of a BMW 335d and Range Rover Vogue (4.6 V8) weren't really doing it for the fuel costs. So bought a 2000 plate 6n Polo diesel. Running it on 50/50 cooking oil / diesel, and she is running fine. Certainly a lot cheaper to run than my other motors.

Range rover to polo bet that was a shock!

It's great. I still love driving the RR, it's a beast. But at only 14 mpg (on LPG admittedly), it's pretty expensive to run (roughly speaking it equates to 26-28 mpg price wise, but still nowhere near as good as I'd like for the commute). But still, I love driving the Polo. It's great to be in a wee nippy manual again.
