Weight rating, Id and size of ap/fk coilover springs

Featured Replies

Hi I've recent purchased a budget set of coilovers (tuning art) for my mk 4 polo as my old ones are shot. Only problem is the ride is far to bouncey too the point were you hit the brakes or go over a slight dip and the back end twitches and throws the spare wheel out the boot lol

I've been told off a friend that the car is to light for the spring and this is what is giving the bounce, so my thought are to try and get a set of coils that are of similar built quality and id, size and weight rating as some of the top brand coilovers so any info would be appreciated

It should be damped to suit also though.

There's rules of thumb which can be applied to damping via changes of spring rates which would still probably result better than some of these generic one damper suits all kits.

Spring rate wise, email them and ask?

I don't know what the crack is with these low budget coilovers as a friend has had a set on is lupo and where spot on and reviews are a mixed bags was thinking I've heard that golf coilovers fit polos etc would they make spring softer harder to suit a heavier car ?? I know it's a stab in the dark but if so maybe I have be sent springs that are not rated to my car or there just shit lol
