lurked on here for years now, bought my uncle's car two years ago for a decent price and recently got it on the road.

as I bought it:

then went on to fail it's MOT on a exhaust centre box and brake pipes. sorted that and its developed an occasional starting fault

bought these:

then discovered most of the nuts under the car are rounded off when we went to fit them so we gave up haha.

also had my first go with my mates machine polisher and some SRP:

tried a banded steel on (sticker has bailed and the steels aren't refurbed yet):

cheers mate. temporarily yeah, was starting and immediately dying. I reckon it's the immobiliser, it also went mad today and wouldn't let me lock it without the alarm going off. so now I have to take the battery off every time I leave it somewhere

shit mate. i still havnt sorted mine out, it had an immobiliser at one point, dunno if its something to do with that? i found that my battery doesnt have enough power to turn the car over when it doesnt start, its not the battery though because i stuck a new one in and still same result.

it will start when the battery have 12.75v or above, but after its been running for a little bit the battery drops and takes some time to go back to normal. any thoughts?

ahh that's pretty weird actually. my immobiliser was just cutting it out when it wouldn't start, brand new battery too... got it ripped out for £60, so much better hah. coilovers hopefully on Saturday!

well yesterday I finally got the coilovers on. tracking is now miles out, I also noticed my CV boot is leaking. ordered another one and hopefully i'll fit that and my wheel bearing pretty soon. also really really needs a service.

well the starting problem is back, car is currently at the garage. replacement cv boot and wheel bearing have arrived.

haven't updated this in a while... so I eventually solved my starting issue, turns out it was only a relay. swapped the banded steels for some BBS RZ's that were painted awful colours, sprayed them black and got some 165/50's straight on. bought some wind deflectors and took the mudflaps off. also managed to fall off a jack most importantly, the helpers came out! getting notched and arches rolled as soon as I can sort how I'm gunna get to work haha.
