1988 1.6cl 4+e mk2 golf

- Jade green

- 5 door

-5 speed manual

-Small bumper model

- 45000 but is daily drive

- Full service history, service book stamped every year until 2006.

-4 previous owners, original owner had from 88-08 who did only couple thousand miles a year and has lots of receipts etc... lots of old mots as well

-taxed till end of april 2014

- MOT till mid july 2014

-Clean and easily gets 35mpg

-Just had 2 new front wings fitted and professionally sprayed

-Engine is bigger enough to have power but cheap to insure compared to gti

-all stock except lowered springs which lowered all round 30mm

- In the 2.5 years I've owned it, it has never failed to start, never broke down and never let me down.

- Starts first time every time

- after driving my beetle and getting in this it feel really smooth

Couple of bad points

- Bubbling in places such as rear arches and rear tow eye

- Heater does work but the direction selector (head on, windscreen, feet) doesnt work, does what it wants, think a pin from back of handle has fell off

- caught back arch on my drive so has a little scrape, i was going to tidy up and put gti arches on which would cover it

rare opportunity to own a unmolested low mileage golf which as a full service history to prove it, or if you cant afford/ too young to insure a gti this is a great alternative

price £1500 swaps/px considered, probably more incline to pre 1990 and VW but try me

will come with spares such as a gti steering wheel, badgeless front grill and bonnet brow all of which i acquired and never fitted

have some nice polished Porelli P slots wheels which i may sell with it

Would benefit from a clean and polish.
