Hi all, heres my dilemma;

First gy to work on my car did everything to get i running and pass its mot, took it down and was told the caliper on passenger side was siezed, so I left him to rpelace it. Passed its mot fine, few minor advisorys. Had a mate asking if my calipers were blue, I took a look and they were. I then took a closer look at the passenger caliper, only to notice there was a nice VW3 stamped on. Where as my other side is te standard VW1.

WHAT THE HELL ARE VW3s. I've never heard of them before, only VW1 and VW2, what are these off? I know mk3 Golfs run VW2s so cant be that, I'm not sure of any Polo having them either.

On the up side, is it better to run VW3s?

Not sure what a VW3 is off but if it's blue it makes me think it's not brand new, somebody has probably painted it whilst on a previous car. Hope he did'nt charge you for a brand new one

My thoughts exactly, I thought it might of been mk3Golf but my friend owns two and said both dont have them. Heres the mind fuck, my VW1 on the drivers side is also blue.. So confusing, but nah he charged me as preowned. No idea where he got it from, but this is a good 6month ago

Google is trying to say they are from a mk3 Golf Gti, but the rear calipers. Well, thats what I can make of it, top 3 pages were about that but didnt say VW3

The mrs Golf4 calipers have 'FS III' on them, but i can't see it being one of those because they ain't small - they only just fin in 15in wheels, i'm pretty they're 280mm discs!

Was hoping you were here to save the day haha, Yeah I think its deffinately not them haha. It just about fits in my 13" steelies. Ill throw a photo up tomorrow. Quite bugged me really

VWIII are of a mk4 and are the same as the mk3 golf ones but are made from aluminum to reduce weight and increase heat dissipation :)

The rears are ally yeah, the fronts ain't..
