Hi, If i buy a car that is SORN, is it possible to phone DVLA on the spot to tax it, then drive it away? Thanks

I think the only way to do it would be at a Post office as at that point the Car will not be registered in your name. Obviously you will need MOT and 'proper' Insurance too..

You could ask the seller to Tax it for you before you pick it up?

If its insured, as in showing up on the MID you can tax at a post office/ask the seller to do it for you.

Also you won't then have to wait for a tax disc which will probably be delivered to the sellers address who will then have to send it to you
