Weber DCD

Featured Replies

I bought a Weber 28/36 DCD carb ages ago, to fit to my MK2. Who else is running this carb? I'm just wondering what sort of set ups people are using, in terms of venturi, jets, adaptor plate etc. I've accidentally bought a 1.4 8v (silly me) to fit, so wondering what would be best to run on that.

Thanks in advance

maxgt has one on his 1.3 jetta

Standard jetting might be pretty close if the one you have is from a cortina - the engine size is 1498cc

The only way to find out is to experiment/pay someone to jet it for you

It's from an 998cc imp lol. I was originally gonna use it on a 1043 I've researched the jetting for that lol.nif someone's got one on a 1.3 it should be pretty close

The jetting for the cortina is

Venturi 26/27

Aux venturi 4.5/4.5

Main jet 140/155

Air correction jet 230/180

Emulsion tube jet F30/F30

Slow running petrol jet 50/70

Slow running air jet 200/70

Progression holes 2x120/1x120

Starter petrol jet 190

Starter air correction jet 100

If that helps at all

(I have a cortina too)

You're awesome, I was gonna research that today but you've saved me a whole lot of time. Cheers bud

No problem dude glad to help

That's for a Cortina 1500 GT (actually 1498cc) which had 78BHP. It used a 70 pump jet. Not great for fuel at high load.

Smaller and you can get a bog.

Simca 1500 (actually 1475cc) had 81bhp. It used

Venturi 25/26

Aux venturi 4.5/4.5

Main jet 135/140

Air correction jet 205/150

Emulsion tube jet F33/F33

Slow running petrol jet 45/70

Slow running air jet 200/70

Pump jet 50

and ran with 6.5 float level versus Ford's 5.0.

Clever Frenchies.

I've been in a passenger in both - though with different drivers - and I preferred the Simca. Admittedly the Simca car was perhaps better maintained and the German driver in the Simca was probably more of a nutter.
