New to the forum, been a while since i have been in the scene after spending a few years working in northern ireland.

Picked up my first ever polo not long ago, i used to build mk2 golf, think i have had 5 in total.

White Riot, project named after a song by my favorite band the clash (I'm not a racist)

anyway here is how i picked her up. STILTS!

i polished the crap off the headlights, still need a little work but coming along nicely.

Gave her a wash and then drove up to corby to see kaalis and get my coilovers fitted. and here how she is now.

Just need to get rid of the horrid wheels and get the arches rolled as i have major rubbidge.

I used the 3m kit but was using a battery drill so couldn't take as much time as I'd like over them. If anyone is after the 3m kit head over to 3mdirect.co.uk £14 inc postage.

Yours is looking good, I just need to get some wheels and some more lows.

Kinda wish I had black rubstrips though they really break up the white nice.

Spotted them in the "what did you do to your Polo today" thread, wondered if they were my old ones but they were on Goodyear Eagle F1s last time I saw them (which was only a couple of months ago). I'd recognise the back of the spokes anywhere.

Thy came on the car and are proper haggard, just out of interest though what the hell are they? Been trying to find out what they are.

Adikt Speed - made between late 1999 and late 2000 so I'm not surprised they're a bit tired.

They were cheap wheels, hence the awful centre caps, but not bad looking things. I had the same problem as you, that one of the centre caps broke. Managed to get some spares by begging everyone selling wheels on eBay.

But 15s are no good for track work on a G40 unless you do lots of arch work. So I got rid in 08, then my mate crashed his MX5 on them and stripped the tread off one of the tyres. Only sold them on - to someone with a 6N - in April hence me being curious when I saw em. :-)

So after shredding a trye the other day i have put it in for some new ones today. i think i am going to attempt to refurb the wheels myself, shouldnt be too bad on three of them, usual curb rash however the last wheel is buckled and has a massive gouge where the previous owner hit a curb in the snow. I'm going to look into getting this one sorted professionally before i do any work to the others.

So what coulor should i go? thinking either white or gold. centres with polished lips or full colour?

will post some pics when i get the car back, could only afford to get front tyres done 165/50/15 on 6.5J rims front and 195/50/15 rear so going to have some crazy Hotrod rake going on, will get other tyres replaced next month.

Go all white or white with polished lip and with the new tyres the runnable shouldn't be to bad. To get the wheel straightened and true you looking at around 70-80 quid.

was thinking all white would look good, motorsport esq. would also help with the look of the refurbed lip.

will be fitting some centre caps too in place of the shitty coned ones.

just cant strech to afford new wheels just yet, might as well work with what i have got and learn something at the same time.
