My polo is already lowered on fk coilovers with no helper springs in and wound all the way to the bottom of the thread. I also have a chassis notch but I'm no where near happy with how it sits! I want the bumper on the floor static but I want other ideas of getting it lower without cutting the car up by cutting the strut tower and putting a 2" band in. Any help and input would be very much appreciated!!

lowering top mounts will give you about 10mm

Post a pic up of your car pal. As I took my helpers out at weekend and adjusted em up so I have 20mm thread on front and 35mm on rear but only have 2 inch ground clearance on subrframe. However I'm on 15s

Take out the strut and look to see what else can be removed..

I have a feeling youve left the bump stops in but you can get lowering top caps and remove a adjuster

I have the bumpstops still in because its only like 5mm when I need another 2" at least :( there isn't anything else I can remove from the strut Randall

5mm bump stops there like 2 inch unless you have cut them down already. If your going for out right lows look on Randall build thread he has moved the hub mount up lowering top caps and all other sorts of things. Maybe cut a coil?

there seems to be a massive culture of needing to be low, so frequently i see cars that look sick, and then the whole ''it needs to be lower'' comments come along, and they fucking ruin it, and then spend the rest of the time fixing shit thats dragging on the floor, or wearing out because its working at angles its not meant to, gets stuck on everything and makes everything even more uncomfortable.

if you want it lower, id raise the turrets and get some travel back, refit helper springs, dont take an adjuster ring out, you need some wheel travel, you could fit shorter springs and simply be at the end of the dampers travel.

but still, id leave it. or stop your side repeater falling out first :p

Sell the fk and get some cheapo's. If they are anything like the fk I had on my jetta they only lower about 80mm ish.

Still tho you can go so low the car just looks shit which is something you might want to bare in mind. The rear looks as low as you can go due to tyre/arch yet it seems to sit just nice with the front height wise. Just dropping the front with give arse up rake, and too much rake looks shit. To get round that you will probably have to either swap wheels or flare the rear arches more to get more lows so it sits nice with the front, which will then be over the top compared to the front arches so you'd either have miss matched arches making it look shit or have to sell the wheels to get some to fill the front arches and flare them to suit...

what you need is an image in your head of what you want and how you want it to look, then look at what needs doing to make that happen before doing it. Far too many people just dive in and the car just looks shit because the arches and wheel fitment are after thoughts to 'slam the fuck out of it'

its been this height for over a year and I've always wanted it lower, its not about ruining it by making it lower! i personally think being stupid low looks cool as fuck, but thats my opinion and also my car. but each to their own! i wanted the cheapest way of making it lower without cutting the car up first

No it wouldn't. 13's don't make low profile Tyres there for would be higher then it is now. I want 15's woth small Tyres and shows how much attention you pay. My car is a 6n and also says in the write up and title

You do realise that a 6n/6n2 is exactly the same in all the departments that matter to this subject? That said I am not blind and can see its a 6n, I hadn't even realised I had put 6n2

Your tyres look like 185/45-15 (maybe 195?), if so maybe you should do a bit of research into tyre/wheel size before making silly statements? A 175/50-13 would have a similar profile but be on a rim 2" smaller, that would drop the car by around 1"

Fact of the matter is, if you want want at least 2" drop past the end of the adjustment on the coilies and want to keep your 15's then you're gonna have to start chopping shit. If getting these cars as low as people like scott have was easy then loads of people would be doing it. I can't think of one single thing that would give you a 2" drop straight off other than possibly raising the strut tower. you'd have to do a few things pinching a bit of drop here, and a bit of drop there. I would suggest some to you but if you had anything about you you would be able to get a good idea of where to start just by looking at the front suspension setup.

And I think Adams comment is the truth after your last post. It's not all about lows and don't go hunting to be the lowest Randalls car is awesome but unpractical and the work that has gone into is far beyond what most people are willing to do. take a look at the amount of subframes he goes through. We have given you ways of getting it low and the fact you still have bump stops in shows your not to clued up on the subject so take the suggestions and criticism and have a think about it. Do what you want it's you car. And for tyre sizes as stated you can get equal profiles in all sizes if you do the qualcualtions. Going to 15s will lift the car an inch with out knowing you tyre spec now.my guess is you will run a horribly stretched 165/45/15 Nanking and go for right out scene queen award. Good luck mate

i didnt say i wanted to be as low as randall, and if i go to 14's it will only take me HALF and inch higher now lower, think about it!!! i have my bumpstops in because there is no point in taking them out yet, i will take them out when i mod something else becuase it would be pointless taking the car apart more then once, thats proves you dont know me, i am a scene queen and fucking love it! I'm that scene, i have a dildo shifter, a wink mirror, stretch, lows smoothed bumper, window sticker that says 'big dick player' so carry on everyone, i couldn't give a fuck. this is why i dont use forums, your all complete nice people at the end of the day! dont you think i know what happens when you lower a car!
