Year 2000 Audi TT 225 Roadster

Model: TT 225 1.8 turbo

Year: 2000 - W Reg

Colour: Nimbus Grey (LZ7X)

Interior. Grey Leather/Alcantra.

Transmission: Manual 6 speed.

Mileage: 136630 - May rise slightly depending on how much it gets used

MOT: 17th Feb 2014

Tax: August 2013

Features/Spec: Factory Xenons, Climate Control, Power Hood, Quattro, Bose sound system, leather/alcantra interior with heated seats, heated mirrors, 312mm brakes, twin pipes - All the usual 225 toys and nice bits.

Myself and my ex-partner have owned this car since April 2012, and has been a great car, however, we have split up, and she is moving to very close to work so will not be needing the car anymore. I already have a car, so we are selling it up rather than one of us buying the other out of their half!

Nice car, perfect for summer, and with lots of the usual TT niggles sorted. Not perfect, has a few dinks etc on the body, but nothing more than you would expect from a car of this age, and still looks cracking in the sun when its had a nice polish.

Partial service history up until us owning it, then I have serviced it and done any work since.

Notable Work that I have done:

- Serviced every 6000 miles

- Dash pod repaired (and still under guarantee) by BBA Reman in November - This was to solve the dreaded TT immobiliser issue, however it also means that as you will see in the pics, the DIS is fully working with no missing pixels!!! I decided to have it repaired rather than try to replace as BBA Reman had excellent reviews in the TT community and offered a longer guarantee than Audi do on a genuine replacement dash-pod!

- New Headlight 'alien' for washer on Passenger side (genuine Audi)

- Sump removed, oil strainer replaced etc to ensure no sludging

- All roof drain holes were cleared out, as were all the drain holes in the sills - notorious places for blocking up and causing damp/rust problems

I am sure that there is loads of other stuff - I am writing from memory, but will add anything else I can think of when I remember it! The one thing I meant to do, but never got round to was to change the haldex oil & filter, so you may wish to budget to do that. It doesn't make any funny noises or give me any reason to think there is a problem, however I wanted to do it for peace of mind.

Other Notable Jobs done:

- New Clutch in December 2011

- Cambelt done while owned by previous owner in 2012. I saw a scan of the receipt for this when we purchased the car, however, he never sent it to me as promised. I tried a few times afterwards to get it from him, but never could.

Basically a nice, honest car, that is usable while you could still (if you wanted to) do plenty to put your own stamp on it. The drivers seat is a bit tatty on the alcantra bit (although heating etc still all works) - My intention was to just replace as and when a set came up at a decent price, but in all honesty it has never bothered either of us enough to actually get around to seriously looking for a set (as it happens a set of black leather/alcantra ones has just come up for £200 in Cardiff - I would happily pick up and fit for purchaser if they wanted to pay for them).

I know that a few ropier TTs are starting to show signs of rust here and there - I have not found a spot on this anywhere except for a very small bit near the rear numberplate lights in the boot lid, and even that is only a tiny bit.

Slightly crappy pics don't do the colour justice - We were looking for a black coupe when we bought this, but couldn't resist the colour and top-down driving for the summer. I will dig out some better pics that I took of it a while ago when it was on different wheels when I get a second. When she decided she fancied a roadster, I was a bit worried about having to drive a hairdressers car, but I will really miss it to be honest. If I didn't need more than 2 seats, I would have been very tempted to keep it for myself rather than selling.

Car is in Cardiff and can be viewed at any time, however I can take it to the West Midlands on most weekends for viewings with a little bit of prior notice. Am looking for £3000 for her.

Am happy to discuss price etc with anyone who wants to come and have a look at the car, but am not a big fan of daft offers by text/PM etc when people haven't even come to view - Bear in mind I am in the middle of dealing with a break-up after 8 years, and therefore don't be surprised if you get a snotty reply if you ignore the above advice!

Any questions, just shout, I am sure there will be stuff I have forgotten/missed.

Cheers

Dan

Hi mate,

Fairly unlikely, as she doesn't need/want a car anymore, and I already have more than any normal person needs! Possible though, as long as it was with cash our way - what were you thinking?

Hi Tilby - I have had a look at it, its a nice car, but I definitely cant have anymore, and I have spoken to her about it and she is definitely not going to have one for a bit as she works so close to home.

Cheers

On the subject of P/Xs - The only car we might be interested in P/Xing with would be an 8p Audi A3, as her brother is after one. Happy to do deal with cash either way dependant on the car/condition/age etc, but her brother has a very top budget of £4K in total, so bear that in mind. Also he is fairly young, so for insurance purposes, only looking at 2.0FSI (NOT TFSI!) or 1.9TDI

Bump - Have found her brother an A3 now, so not really after any p/x's anymore, just a straight sale. Will be going up on Autotrader/Ebay this week, but still open to close-ish offers from forum members if anyone wants to come take a look
