Any way: Fails:

001 Nearside side repeater missing [1.4.A2b]

002 Offside side repeater missing [1.4.A.2b]

"Vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must be fitted with one side repeater indicator on each side. Instead of a separate lamp, the side repeater might be part of the front direction indicator if it includes a wraparound lens.

Lamps incorporating a side repeater are marked either with an ‘E’ mark in a circle or an ‘e’ mark in a rectangle above which is a number 5.

However, some vehicles are fitted with a wraparound lens with no European approval markings. These can be tested by standing approximately 1000mm to the side of the vehicle’s rear bumper with the indicator on. If amber light can be seen coming through the front lens (not a reflection) this is acceptable."

005 Nearside rear position lamp not working [ 1.1.A.3b] - Replace bulb... I did check this. It's not the bulb that's faulty. It seems to be the cluster itself. after I wiggled the bulb a bit it was working fine again.[/b]

006 Offside front (abs wire) steering system has a road wheel fouling a part of the vehicle [2.2.D.2a] - Spacers????[/b]

007 Offside front suspension arm ball joint dust cover excessively deteriorated so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt [2.4.G.2] - How hard is it to replace?

And some advisories... But i'll sort them. Emissions are fine.

Soooo... Last year, car passed with no mention at all about my deleted indicators... I've done a bit off googleing and some people think it's illegal. But I've found many people saying it's fine. And the above link / quote seems to back that it's legit.

Is it legal or not? Other wise i'm going to have to either butcher my wings and put indicators in or try to source some wings / indicators.

Been a 6n2 you can see the indicators well....

So any help would be great!!

or maybe a motorcycle shop may have something i wouldent cut hols in the wings just for silly mot tester

I'm shore you are able to see amber light from the front indcator lenses because there waparround on the front corners

If you look side on at the car with indicators on you should be able to see the indicator flashing if not then its a fail but t also has to be a certain brightness. Ball joint is a bit of a pain as the nut is under the cv joint on the drive shaft I find it easier to pull the hub of as its only 3 bolts and the 3 that hold the ball joint to the arm. As for the fouling can't help with that just have a look.

The side repeaters are (like a lot of other things) at testers discretion, if he doesn't think its visible enough then he can fail it. I had a fail on the same thing once so wired some side repeaters in and taped them to the wing mirrors with the wiring just going in through the bonnet gap. The tester said they were secure and worked so he couldn't fail it

Hi Guys,

Though I'd just put a little update down in case it's of any help.

Side lights was deemed legal and safe.

Took the care to another place. Sailed through... Ball joint was mashed up though....

Put spacers on it, and the bulb issue turned out to be the light bulb!!! it was the wrong one o0 it has two bottom connectors not 1... meh.
