I think this is so true, plenty of people on here on their high horse about being insured to the T when really they could probably get caught out for the smallest insignificant thing by insurance. An example is the fact some parts are becoming harder and harder to get through vw, if you can't get it from them is it a modification as its not from the manufacturer to their specifications?

If your insurer won't cover your intended modifications you will have to cancel your policy to change to an insurer that will cover you with a mods, you will lose 2 months (or however long your policy has been running) towards your 1 year ncd plus whatever cancellation fee your insurer will charge you, some are 50+% of your total yearly premium!

You will have to decide wether it's worth the cost of getting the insurance sorted and going ahead with the modifications or not.

tbh almost every driver has not disclosed all the facts to their insurer deliberately or not, at least once.
