James' Polo 9n Build

Featured Replies

My 2003 Polo 9n 1.2 12v , i have a few plans for this and hopefully it turns out as nice as i hope ,

I bought the car with some damage to body work but nothing serious , i bought it last week and it has been sent in for repair of most the damage , I'm leaving the damage that isnt too noticeable due to funds , then its going to a garage for a once over and to get ready for NCT :-)

Parts i have already bought are ,

- New Grill as the original was cracked

- Fog Fittings with Fogs

These will be fitted when i get it back in the next week or so 8-)

My planned mods for the 9n are the usual

- Alloys (Cades Eros Silver)

- Coilovers

- Tinted windows (Not too dark 8-) )

- Carbon wrapped badges front and back

- Boot Build (Sub , Amp , and replace all the standard speakers)

This is what i have planned for before i get it on the road , as i am 17 and this is my first car :-D could be november before I'm insured on it so it gives me more time to get money to do more mad mods ;)

Also in the future i plan to get votex splitters all round 8-) but that is ages away i would so if even as that will take a while to save up for :-(

I should have alloys by next week when i get the car back so expect photos when i get it back :-)

Cheers guys , would appreciate feedback and suggestions :-D

hey man!

Nice, I got mine with pretty much the same thing on the rear drivers' side, but it wasn't really as bad as that you can hardly see it now with a teeny bit of compound on...

But another thing watch out with all the mods because you gotta declare with insurance, and coileys, rims etc can have a massive increase on your premium, on my 9n best quote I got if I had coilovers was 7 grand... could've done a bit more shopping around but most wouldn't touch me so it wasn't worth it...

I'm just going to wait until my years no claims comes through and hope that helps me.

But nice buy though look forward to seeing what you get up to with it

Cheers for the heads up , i knew about declaring modifications to the car but i think i have found a loop hole anyway as i am already a named driver on my fathers policy for commercial insurance , but i will have to see how that turns out .

I know a guy that respraying the front bumper, driver door, the rear driver side quarter panel and the back bumper, and he is also colorcoding the rubstrips and mirrors all for €400 8-) Cant wait to get it back next week :-)

i had damage on the car and i just go it color coded while he was respraying the damage and i go it done by a mate of my fathers so it was alot cheaper than it should have been ... i got front bumper, driver wing, driver door, driver quarter panel, and rear bumper plastic welded and resprayed, rub strips, mirrors, and grill done all for €465 which was a very good deal although the quality isnt 100% but its certainly good enough for me!
