6n2 Detailing

Featured Replies

Hi bought myself some stuff and want to try it out when the weather is ok.

Would this be the correct sequence?

Wash - Autoglym Shampoo - Noodle mit

Clay Bar + Autoglym rapid detailer

Wash - Autoglym Shampoo - Noodle mit

Polish - Autoglym Super Resin Polish - Sponge applicator + microfibre

Wax - Autoglym High Def Wax - Apply with sponge pad + microfiber

Also is it correct that you should not let the Rapid Detailer dry?

And can you apply the wax to the windscreen?

Any help tips appreciated :)

seems alright, dont know if washing it again after claying is needed but i cant imagine it does any harm (i normally just rinse mine after claying).

not sure about the wax on the windscreen though it could leave it all greasy

Did it yesterday, took an age! I started about 12 and finished around 9!

Anyway i did the order above, the washing after the clay bar was to remove any hazing where the spray had dried.

I polished it twice (used glass polish for glass) then waxed everything.

Not tried the wipers yet but they look crystal clean!

When i was clay baring the clay went really really soft and wasnt working very well, is this when its filled with contaminants?

Mine could do with a polish, i'll need to be starting with a wire wheel for all the rust, followed by 320 grit dry paper on an electric orbital sander, then work my way up to a four figure grade of wet'n'dry before applying T-cut with a battery drill.

If anyone could piece together the best list for me, appreciated

Put a couple of layers of the super resin on to hide more swirl marks and scratches. I usually do 5 layers but 3 is more than enough then put the wax on. You do need to wash the car after claying because there's loads of stuff left on from the detailer.

And it wont matter if the detailer dries it's like washing the car and not rinsing it.

Don't wax the window shield use rain x, trust me once you've used rain x you wont be able to drive in rain without it
