I thought you might be able to help me here

My nan has this kind of stone porch just in front of the garden outside her house. The paint has started to peel off and looks pretty untidy.

I said that i'd try and sort it out for her however I have to idea what to do.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated along with links to the ideal paintto use. It needs to be a grey colour

At the moment my rough idea is to:

1) remove old paint with wire brush

2) possibly seal the stone with pva mixed with water (not sure why this is needed)

3) then paint the area (maybe a few coats) not sure what the best paint to use is though

Just do what you said you was gonna do but instead of pva use stabilising solutions, water based, 2 coats jobs a gooden, so sweep hole patio clean wire brush bad areas, sweep again, stabilise twice then apply a coat to all the bare stone, then once dry coat it all up 2-3 times, have fun

1 big firework.

dunk firework in paintpot, light and run like hell.

Job done
