I am. Yet to find much use for it though, I just let everyone "connect" on there because... why not?

not sure how useful it is to those outside the computing industry. loads of agencies canvass linkedin and try and pick suitable candidates for their clients. others just try and add you for any old reason. Just another bit of exposure and can aid in you being headhunted. Prospective employers will tend to check if you have one, as well as a facebook site, when vetting applicants and cross-validate against CV's for job-based embellishment

Generally, it's pretty handy if you're a freelancer in whatever you do.
