Honda Del Sol

Featured Replies

I have been a student the last three years so I haven't owned a car during that time, it was just an additional expense that I couldn't afford and believe it or not the Del Sol has been one of the cheapest cars I can find to insure at £600

I had a look at an Ignis (not even the sport) £1500!

MX5 £1600!

6n2 polo 1.4 £1400

mk4 gti 2.0 £1600 the list goes on...

I had been after this specific one that is local to me for years, It has been sitting at a mates garage since it needed a backbox and brakes for its MOT but he had just had a baby and it got left for a while until he decided what he wanted to do with it... FOUR YEARS LATER, I have convinced him to sell it to me.

The paintwork has seen better days, someone has thrown a brick at the windscreen and ruined the bonnet and the windscreen surround.

there seems to be water getting into the cockpit but I don't know if its due to the windscreen being smashed

Then came a new exhaust

and a sort of before and after

so yeah, far from the best example out there but with a fsh and solid where it matters, just need to decide if i wanna spend money on it or save to replace it next year with some no claims discount behind me

I miss my old del-sol - belter of a car. What spec engine's that one got? Mine had the trick electric transformer style roof, yours looks like it's the lighter weight standard version (flip up boot)

Watch out driving hard with the roof off, scuttle shake is terrible in them, but aside from that, they're a hoot to drive

I sincerely hope the car is in F0rt William and not Glasgow. I like it, I want a Daihatsu Cuore, I don't want this but it would be so easy if you wanted my MK3 :|

Edit: Hahahaha, F0rt autocorrects to thought :lol::lol:

haha, Well it's currently in Glasgow, I travel down every weekend to see the gf.

The FO rt thing is infuriating haha.

Yeah I might be interested mate, pm me :)
