Power

Featured Replies

So basically, long story short... Bored off my lack off power in the 6n 1.4 8v

Looking to get something turbo and above 160 bhp, what do you guys reckon?

Been looking at corsa vxr and polo gti (07-09) just wondering what you would like and see what you can suggest!

Thanks!

Volvo v40 2.0T.......oh wait you said over 160bhp

Working properly (mine had a sticky wastegate at the poloshow so wasnt boosting much (98bhp at first run)) they are a 165bhp or thereabouts. Comfy and can still be thrown around and stick to the road like glue.

Having driven the Corsa cant say I was a 100% happy with its handling but the sport seats are comfy to be thrown around in (

But personally I prefer the 2.0TDI Astra, we have one of each on the responder teams and the Astra just feels nicer. Not driven that model polo Gti but from the ones I've seen and sat in I would go towards the vauxhall, but if it was the new 09- ones then the polo would be the choice.

407 v6 coupe

205 GTI

Ibiza cupra or a 6r gti? 1.4 twin charge 180hp stock.. Can probably pick them up cheap enough now. Well the ibizas anyway

Citroen Saxo T4 1.6 @ 155bhp non turbo

HAHAHA now thats a car to be silly in. The one car I regret having to let go but I would have killed myself in it by now .

Alfa Romeo GTV V6

Either the 3.0 V6 24valve 217BHP

or if you are really greedy

the 3.2 V6 24 valve 237BHP

I used to own the baby 2.0 16valve 147.9BHP and it was a beast, its bigger brothers are Ferrari chasers.

Cup edition looks gorgeous in Red ;)

I downsized to be able to buy a 60s classic and drive to work cheap, but once my loan is finished I WILL have one of these again.

Dont believe the Alfa Naysayers, if looked after these things are immense, though be careful as you 'will' probably die in one as the temptation to go far too fast is almost irresistible.

amazing cars.

I like the spider but in a car that can do 158mph I would prefer a roof :S

not that I'd ever do that of course.

205 GTI

Has neither a turbo or 160bhp

my suggestion would be a Sierra cosworth, more more interesting and will hold its value much better than a modern polo or corsa

has a supercharger and 210 bhp...

Guessing about £6,000-£8,000 to spend, based on the cars you mentioned.

Loads of great cars at that sort of price bracket. Mk5 Golf GTI, Focus ST, Renaultsport Megane 225 (if you like tow trucks) and even oddball stuff like the Mazda6 MPS.

Sadly with no turbo the Renaultsport Clio 197 is out of your list. Shame, as that's a cracking car.
