Mallory Park race circuit is in trouble and may end up being closed. Due to some complaints about noise i think...

It was the meeting to decide on Mallory's fate last night...the council have decided they will be pushing ahead to prosecute the circuit for 5 alleged breaches in 2012 of a noise notice issued in 1985...if it goes through could mean running days will be down to 92 which in turn means the circuit may have to close because it would not be making enough money to survive...170 supporters and residents came to the meeting last night but could not change the councils decision... Sad sad times... It's a shame the complaints of a few can damage the enjoyment of so many... SAVE MALLORY!

Mallory Park Statement

FOLLOWING Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council’s vote to accept recommendations to pursue Mallory Park in respect of the 1985 notice on noise (10th July), the circuit has been in contact with the Chief Executive of the Council.

Mallory Park Chairman Peter Chubb said: “HBBC and Mallory Park have agreed to meet as soon as possible next week to re-open the dialogue with a view to establishing a way forwards.”

You gotta feel for RPC (formerly three companies) who owned land in Northants for decades, including lakes and woodland. They built a huge factory on it, making plastic containers. With lots of land spare on the edge of the town Higham Ferrers, and tough competition/fighting with rival and merging companies Plysu and Nampak, they sold off some for housing development.

Residents of the new housing then complained about the noise from the factory, the complaints were upheld, and now the housing estate is a serious threat to the factory. I should think the owners of the factory (and remaining land) must feel like having a commercial 'accident' with perhaps a gas main or something, wipe the fuckers out, that's what i'd be looking into!

Theres some OAP douchebag who lives next to the feed mill I work at.

He's only lived there 4 years and he complains to the environment agency about lorries coming and going and general noise about 4 times a week on average.

It's now got to the point where we have had to change our working hours from 8am - 8pm to the much less sociable times of 10am - 10pm. All because this slug of a man likes a lay in.

I mean ffs the mill has been there over 50 years. Its even called MILL ROAD.

IMO the old bastard should be told to just fuck off or accept it, hes the retard who bought a house on Mill Road next to a Mill and now complains about it.

Problem is the government always seems to side with the retards. At no point do any of these officials use an ounce of common sense and point out that it was them who chose to move next to the race track/mill/pub/ect.
