I have this recurring problem with my Mk2 not waking up straight away when I turn the ignition.. Slight juddering at first then after about 4 seconds she starts with my foot fully down on the acceleration..

I checked my spark plugs and the cables and there starting to show there age.. You reckon this could be the issue or does it lie somewhere else like with the battery?

I think they all do this... mine does it and only has 17k on the clock

Carburettors are notoriously worse at starting than efi systems
