I've a 56 plate polo and the Perspex on the speedo has a crack in. Can I just replace the plastic or will I have I replace the whole speedo unit?

When i took my speedo apart i tried removing the glass but its clamped in and the front surrounds are melted to the perspex so it would be very awkward
