Yo guys! Been on here for months now and decided its time to start a build thread on my pride and joy.

It's my first car and have had it for nearly a year now but in the last month or two is when it really got looking good.

It started out as a completely standard 1.0... Then after half an hour of having it back at home after buying it, it allready started getting tinkered with

First things first i de badged the back of it, sprayed the both vw badges black, put on a stubby aerial, changed the head unit, de-wipered it, and ditched the wheel trims!

A few weeks went by and i installed my sub+amp, installed a home made induction kit using the original airbox/engine cover, added a few stickers, gave it a good detail, and also a full service and cam belt kit, so it was looking roughly like this.

Time went by and i brought a set of Ats cups to refurb, I also brought some pressed plates and a gti grill.

Next on the list while i was re furbing the wheels was to find some coilovers, i found a set of hardly used Ap's for a bargain price so snapped them up and drove the car for a few months at a 4x4 height as i couldn't get insured for mods and was not prepared to risk not declaring the coileys.

After getting fed up with the crazy arch gap i decided to improve it a bit by installing some 75+60mm lowering springs, which after a week of having i chopped the back ones down 2 coils and the fronts 1 coil to get it a tad lower and level. Also had to the bump stops.. i still wasn't happy with the height but it was a improvement!

Next i was on the look out for some tyres and found a 2nd hand set of 165 50's with good tread for £100 so i brought them which ment i had to get my ass into gear and finish the wheels

At this stage i put on the fresh new wheels, Made a straight through pipe to replace the middle silencer, got some aero wipers, a gti splitter, and also made a custom tip for the standard back box. It all started coming together after months of waiting and collecting parts.

It stayed looking like this for a month or two then a few days before i turned 18 i started shopping about to get new insurance so i could get the coileys on.. eventually after a lot of headache i got a new policy with mods declared for £850ish third party, fire and theft... fully comp was only about £980 though :-D

So i woke up early on my birthday as thats when the new policy started, and after a hour or two in the garage with my mate it was slammed! Since that day after cutting bumper mounts, bump stops, rolling the archs a tad, a bit of camber and a chassis notch its now sitting like this..

I've missed out a few small bits here and there but i did not want to clog up the thread! Next on the cards is a touch lower, find a decent interior, sort out some of the body work, a proper boot build, Dubflecta wind deflectors and just tidy up everything!

Soo I've decided i dont like how the back of my car looks right now. I'm going to have a look around and find a cheap gti spoiler to get on there, hopefully it will make it look a bit more aggressive like the front is with the gti splitter and grill. Also i might have a play on photoshop and see what it looks like with a smoother boot handle and smaller sharan badge, or completely smoothed! If i do go ahead with a smoothed boot of some sort i might see if i can smooth the little water channel things under the rear lights as they have cracked and really annoy me!

Very tidy man. Sits pretty well too! GTI spoiler is a good shout. When I decided I wanted one I went for getting the whole GTI bootlid. As the third brake light is attached to the spoiler.

Thanks man, i love how yours looks to! So clean with the smoothed bumpers. Yeah it seems like a good idea to get a complete boot, then i can still use the car while messing around with smoothing and painting it

Thanks man, you also take awesome pictures! aha. I did the same for bumpers. It worked out cheaper to buy another pair of fucked up bumpers and give my bodyshop longer to do it so they didn't have to rush. That way they could charge me less and I still had my car for the week. You going Stancism on sunday?
