well the issue I have is the aircon was working fine when I bought it from the trader on Wednesday but yesterday for some reason a light came up on the dash, (coolant warning light) with a warning sound & now the aircon only blows normal outside temperature. I did google the problem & it suggested that the level sensor in the expansion tank but reading through the history of the car the expansion tank was replaced last year. The coolant level is on the full line so I unplugged the connector, plugged it back in & the light has gone out but the aircon still doesn't blow cold air.

The aircon was also charged up on Wednesday.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated especially with it being so hot at the moment.

check the gas hasn't come out ie a leak you can do this by taking the dustcap cover off the metal aircon pipe(under bonnet) and pressing the vave in momantarly if

there no pressure there the gas has escaped and points to a leak somewere.

if there gas in system check the check the aircon compressor is engaging when you swith it on

oh ok, will I be able to hear the compressor engage from inside to car?

So far I have to say I'm pretty impressed with this forum!

Although my questions have been about common issues that the polo 9n suffers from, at least I've had some quick responses & good advice, unlike some of the other polo forums who only seem to be interested in wheels & big bhp figures & not offering much help for noobs!!!

I definitely think this is the forum for me

(no offence to anyone interested in big bhp figures) maybe in time but for now I just want to solve all the non working bits first
